Brian the server and young architect: My wife and I have worked in fine dining, Ruth's Chris and Brennan's, New Orleans; most servers find a way to irk me and disappoint. Brian's service was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and friendly without getting in the way of our date.
Food: You can scarcely complain about any of the creole and New Orleans fusion served at Eliza; we have been loyal in particular for the gluten free fried seafood. For such a high quality place, however, I was disappointed to learn they are still using the industrial biproduct, "vegetable" oil, in their fryer instead of beef tallow or at least refined peanut oil (which does *not* cause allergic reactions).
I selfishly hope Eliza's can commit to clean oils in their kitchen, so they can once again be our go-to for fried seafood and perfect destination to show out of town friends a refined but casual experience of excellent south Louisiana fare.
Stopped here on a drive from New Orleans to Houston because of the gluten free fried seafood options which is rare. We ate at the bar and had fried shrimp and catfish, fries, and onion rings all of which were gluten free and safe from cross contamination. The bartender was also very knowledgeable and friendly.
Definitely will be back to try some of the other entrees on the menu. The pork tamale was so tender, the birria and cheese enchiladas were perfection. Hubby recommends the Mexican Stir-fry with the protein trio of chicken, shrimp, and steak. I did steal a shrimp to check for myself. The grill on it made the flavor pop. They can cater to just about any restrictions too. They have keto, vegetarian, and gluten free menus. When you go, ask for Dallas. He delivers top notch service!
P.F. Chang’s was very accommodating for our party of 7 on Father’s Day. We have one child in our party, and my father is in a wheelchair and I have a gluten allergy and they were so helpful every step of the way! ❤️ Thank you!
Oh dear. From outside, appears to be a very hip and with it addition to the B.R. restaurant scene as nurtured by the Perkins overpass locus. Interior reads of much the same, as though the quirky bric-a- brac interior design merchants of simulated culture eateries have cracked the hipster aesthetic a decade or two after the peak. Waitstaff with a knit beanie, another with a ever-so- carefully curled mustache; adorable.
The menu is full of vegetarian and vegan and gluten free selections because OF COURSE IT IS. Words like "rustic" have been press- ganged into service for bread that is extremely not.
I challenge new venues in southeastern Louisiana if they have the gusto to put something like shrimp creole on the menu. In this case, I led with some crab cakes. The side salad was the big winner of that course. The crab cakes were okay. Could have been more crab intensive for appetizer pricing. The shrimp creole had shrimp in it. I do not dispute that. But the creole was muted or missing entirely. It is possible that my expectations have been skewed by offerings by friends and family, but I feel confident in saying only the most timid or naive palate will endorse this dish completely. In all fairness, the green peas as a side were expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. A big plus for vegetables treated with respect. A great big star arrived to bump up the score here: the chocolate chunk cookie for a finisher was entirely legit. Definitely take a chance on a dessert if one strikes your fancy.
Service was good. Interior ambiance is very improvisational restaurant furniture. The intentional lack of effort screams as loudly as possible: "We're a very hip and laid back eatery! We are a playful venue!" But the casual cool feels carefully posed.
We visited on a Wednesday around early dinner time and I earnestly hope the sincere mediocre white guy with an acoustic guitar singing bloodless simulations of decades- old moderate rock was a one- time thing and the management recognizes their mistake and cancels that unnecessary intrusion that only distracts and detracts from what pleasantness there is to be had.
I'm definitely up for another run at their menu in a few weeks or so. I suspect there are more gems to be found.
Staff could not have been more pleasant. Wine menu was extensive with solid selections. Our mains were well made with fresh ingredients, unique flavors, and the menu took great care to provide top-notch options for vegans and gluten intolerant folks. While I’m not vegan, the chocolate vegan ice cream was incredibly decadent and delicious. The website pictures made me think seating was communal; it is not. We wish we could move this gem to our town.
Oh man, I had a great solo meal today at BJ's. Gluten-free pizza! Phoebe and Brooke are the best 2 waiters/Servers/Bartenders evah. Eating out is challenging for me, but these two made it so easy. I feel geat! No cramps, no pain at all. I could not have asked for a better experience. Thanks Phorbe and Brooke', y'all rock! See ya soon!:)
We were passing through on a road trip and needed something relatively quick so we could keep moving. I called in our order as we were driving. The employee who answered was very friendly and quick, and we were told our order would be ready in about 20 minutes. It turned out to be about 30 minutes, but the pizza was hot & delicious.
We ordered a 14" Gluten-Free pizza with extra cheese. They were very generous with the cheese (a big plus for me since eating GF usually leaves a bit to be desired...and cheese makes everything better!). Also, for those who don't know, gluten-free pizza crusts are usually only 10" - 12", so it was nice to find one that was a better size...and big enough that the 3 of us could split it.
I am disappointed to have found such a great place that is nowhere near where we live. However, if we are ever passing through again, we will definitely stop.
I had lunch here with my son, who has Celiac’s Disease. The manager - Blake - was AMAZING. After talking with him, I had full confidence that they were going to make sure my son didn’t accidentally get gluten. When he ingests gluten, he throws up for 4-6 hours, so it’s serious. Blake even went out of his way and fried up the tortilla chips in a separate pan so my son could enjoy them. Almost all Mexican restaurants have gluten-free tortilla chips, but they’re contaminated because they’re cooked in the same fryer as things with flour. I felt like we were Blake’s own family, the way he took care of us. I highly recommend Tio Javi’s. The food was outstanding.
In the past this location was well managed. Staff no longer has concern for customers. Also used to have gluten free fries and menu - no longer. Very disappointed. Drastically different.
Definitely was a really good experience. Sushi was good. The server was amazing. They really honored my gluten intolerance and I felt safe. The only reason that I did not give 5 stars was because the fried rice and the teriyaki wasn't the best. But the restaurant is fully worth a visit
I love it this place, they have a good food quality, I ordered a gluten free hamburger and was delicious, I didn’t remember when was the last time I can enjoy a hamburger, and the service was amazing!!
The kids have a great time drawing in the chalkboard.
Amazing experience ! Rhonda is on it when it comes to dietary requirements. She introduced the Gluten-free menu and was so polite and friendly. Food was amazing as always. Thanks Rhonda for making my experience super !!
My favorite restaurant for tikka masala. Mr Kahn and his staff provide great service. The food is cooked fresh from all natural ingredients. It can be prepared vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, etc.
The meals are served family style and there is plenty to share around the table. They also offer a full take out menu and you can order via text from their website.
Spontaneity on our anniversary
We stopping to try Torchy's Taco was a spontaneous choice, but we will visit often from now on.
Our visit started with a cheerful welcome and patient help from Michelle, at the register. After helping us find some interesting lunch choices, she followed up later by bringing my bride a gluten free menu to take home with us.
The tacos were wonderful, but there was was more to appreciate. Felipe, the manager stopped by, asking how we were enjoying our meal - not an obligatory and cursory question. He was keenly interested in hearing about our experience. Learning we were first time guests, he came back later with chips, queso and salsa to try.
Cleanliness, good food, friendly service, and caring attitudes checked all the boxes. We recommend Torchy's Taco and we'll be back soon.
This is my favorite blast-fired pizza style restaurant and I have been to several in multiple cities and states. They have gray cream and excellent service. They go out of their way to make customers happy if there is a mistake on their part. I first came here to eat gluten-free pizzas and I have had them for years. I love it!
Awesome food, fantastic service, and they also have a gluten free menu! The best steak I’ve had in Baton Rouge :)
Ps the goat cheese grits are to die for!
It was a very pleasant experience to eat here. Even though it's BBQ it had different flavors than I expected . The food was good. They had plenty of gluten free options.
I stopped because there was traffic on my way back to Nola. glad they had gluten free, was sad they did not have eggplant. liked that you could do olive oil instead of sauce. friendly and helpful and sweet workers. would go again!
Wanted to try a local spot and was really impressed. Everything was made from scratch and was delicious. You can customize your burger any way you like it, even gluten free or low carb. Highly recommend their ranch dressing!
Excellent experience. Authentic Grerk, mediterranean food. Rack of lamb, potatoes with lemon, roasted, Greek salad, and a gluten free chocolate dessert with figs and cherries I think.
This specific location is on point when it come to no cross contamination I went there I have a gluten allergy and the gentleman took it serious and was highly professional and thoughtful on making my food it’s hard to find people who actually care about other peoples health
Clean place, friendly staff. Only complaint is that cold gluten free noodles are quite gross. Unlike regular noodles, gf noodles get tough and hard when served cold, not appetizing

4.5 stars. The service and food was good. No complaints there. A big plus for me is they have gluten free buns and a whole separate GF menu. The wait was really long (an hour) BUT it was mother's day and we did get there at lunch time. Just know to make a reservation in advance because this place can be busy, but that's because it's good.
Gluten Free Chantilly cake is great! We are very thankful to have found a place local that makes Gluten Free Chantilly cakes and it certainly exceeded our expectations!
Stop scrolling and have a delicious breakfast at Simple Joe’s! I’m a Carolina girl and I know shrimp & grits, and these are ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! The owner is on site and makes sure customers are happy, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is eclectic and funky. I can’t endorse this place enough. Also, for a gluten-sensitive person, what an absolute joy to find ANYTHING remotely Cajun in a cream sauce without a roux. Happy dining!
