My daughter has a gluten allergy that makes her extremely nauseous and causes pain when she consumes it. Tonight our server assured us that they cooked it in a different fryer and my daughter got the chicken fingers. She feels amazing afterwards, coming up to me a few minutes ago asking if we could go back soon. Of course we can honey, dad always wants a shrimp Po' Boy.
Truly like an east coast oyster bar. Love this place.
My son has allergies to wheat, dairy, egg, and nuts, so finding a place to go out is a challenge. We tried First Round after reading about their gluten free and vegan options online. The waiter listened to our concerns and had no problems asking the kitchen if he didn't know an answer to our question. We ordered the street tacos, and when they came to the table, we realized they were made with street corn (containing cheese) and not roasted corn like we thought. They immediately boxed up those tacos (and sent them home with us at no charge) and remade the tacos for my son with no dairy. He thought they were great! I had a chicken sandwich where the chicken was crispy on the outside and still juicy on the inside. We will definitely be repeat customers, as there is so much more on the menu we want to try.
We have stopped in twice on every visit so far to Omaha and can't recommend it enough. I can't eat gluten and they've always been great about ensuring my food as is as safe as possible (given the cross contamination possibilities in any pizza shop). The liguriano in particular is unmatched, def grab that when you visit, but can't go wrong with the rest of their pizza too.
Update: Excellent customer service! Admitted the issue with too much baking soda. We tried it again today the tomato mozzarella gf scone was delicious!!! Also the breakfast sandwich the bombolino was amazing 🤩 Also noticed a barista tasting the coffee to make sure it was prepared correctly! They are really taking the reviews to heart. Awesome to see!
Previously:Met friends for coffee. We got 2 drinks and 2 gluten free bakery items. The coffee tasted like a seven dollar glass of chocolate milk and the gluten-free items were not good. Way too much baking soda in the scones 🤷🏻♀️ and the muffin just fell apart… crumbs. Perhaps should be served in a cup and eating with a spoon?!? Sad because it’s a beautiful building well restored. I wish the food and drink were better so that I could enjoy the space.
