Our favorite restaurant in Beacon. Delicious food and lovely family business. I’m gluten free and there are lots of options. Most of the menu is also dairy free
Thought I'd give this place a try but it wasn't a great experience. It's very dirty, everywhere but especially the bathroom. Crazy thing is that I never even went in the restroom but as I was trying to sit in the lounge area and enjoy my tea and gluten free blondie (which was so horribly sweet I could even eat it) I had to get up to close the bathroom door because It smelled so bad. And not like someone had just pooed but like a bathroom that is not cleaned regularly. When I peaked in there was water on the floor and flies and it just looked and smelled really gross. The sad thing is that I just left because I actually needed to use the restroom but it was so disgusting that I decided to just wait until I found a clean one.
We recently used Beacon Daily for catering an event! I worked with Chris to create a menu that worked for the amount of people I was having. He was easy to work with, honest about the amount of food needed, clear about pricing and prompt with communication for any questions I had. They were there to set up food promptly and explained everything that was there, etc. Most importantly, the food was delicious!! All guests were happy. Thankful too for the gluten free options for my gluten free guests. Highly recommend for catering! I would considering working with them again in the future.
I hate writing negative reviews but I feel obligated to leave one for the sake of anyone with food allergies or dietary restrictions who is interested in dining here. I have celiacs, which is an immune deficiency triggered by gluten (wheat). My family chose this restaurant because they are known to be very accommodating for dietary restrictions and we made them aware of my restrictions when making the reservation. There was an item on the menu labeled as gluten free that I was interested in and upon ordering our food, I was notified that the menu was incorrect and that some items labeled as gluten free are actually not gluten free. I instead ordered the salmon and risotto. My food didn’t come out with my family’s food and I waited 15 additional minutes for my food to arrive to the table. During the time I waited, my family noticed that nearly every dish that arrived at the table was undercooked and needed to be sent back (and was still not cooked to the desired temperature when it returned to the table). My salmon was delicious and all was well until about an hour after I returned home when I became violently ill and remained so through Christmas. The only redeeming quality for this dining experience was the incredible, albeit very overwhelmed, wait staff who unfortunately had to do a lot of apologizing for our dining experience. I really wanted to give Melzinga’s the benefit of the doubt but when my health is on the line I expect it to be taken seriously or at minimum be told that I cannot be accommodated for.
Great pizza. Gluten free cauliflower crust is the best I’ve tasted outside the city so far. Toppings are generous and delicious. The apple and blue cheese salad is delicious. The service was friendly but we were surprised that no drink or some other gesture was offered to soften the blow when our server forgot the order and we had to wait 10 minutes for one of our 4 pizzas.
Brothers Trattoria is a true hidden gem 💎 ✨️ in Beacon. There may be other places to eat, but this is the one! I love the fresh food, and there are even items to help those who are gluten-free or have other dietary restrictions.
I am a sucker for fried calamari. So, whenever I go anywhere to eat and I see it on the menu. I have to have it. But, I have to wonder how good it is. Is it frozen and coming straight out of a box? Reheated and rubbery? Do you relate? 🤔 But, here ... do not worry! The calamari tastes so fresh with a buttery-ness that can not be beat. The price and amount are great, especially for the taste and quality.
I took my brothers here to eat, and we thoroughly enjoyed everything!
There are even other rooms to highlight, but I will save that for a future review after my 10th wedding anniversary 😄 I plan to bring my wife here. Thank you so much Ken, Cheryl, and the rest of your kind staff and family.
See you guys again soon ... even today for more calamari 🤤😋
After hiking all day at breakneck mountain it was great to come across this kool restaurant that had both vegan and gluten free options, the food was pretty yumtastic and definitely filled the need for sustainable good food. Kye was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items which helped me out alot , will most definitely return if we happen to come to this lovely town again. A most worthy visit
Intimate dining with excellent food. Lots of gluten free options clearly marked in the menu. And our server Imad was cheerful and fun! We will definitely eat here again.
Oh. My. Goodness. Thank all things holy and right in the world that Sabina has opened Butterhead Salad Company on Main Street in Beacon! I just finished one of their signature quinoa bowls and it was outstanding.
Fresh produce, delicious roasted sweet potatoes, and I added on some falafel on a whim at the last minute - best decision EVER. Sabina's falafel is the most delicious I've ever tasted. And it's gluten-free!!
She's got options for vegetarians and vegans, and she and her team couldn't be sweeter and more accommodating to me with my special needs diet. (GF / vegan)
With a dearth of options for folks like me in Beacon - especially since Vegetalien closed recently - Butterhead Salad Co is like an oasis in the "healthy AND delicious" food desert.
Thank you for the best salad I've had in a loooooong time, Sabina! I can't wait to come back.
We had a great time here! Loved the Whovian atmosphere and food. They are very accommodating for gluten free, including a great brownie sundae. We will be back!

Not safe for gluten allergies, or celiac. Was served fries that “could be made GF” only to find out they are cooked in the same fryer as gluten items. Our waitress then argued “you said allergy, not celiac”. If this is how they treat allergies, I would stay far away from this place.
I absolutely love this place! The owner and staff are so kind and really know how to make a healthy and yummy smoothie! Lots of options for those who are gluten free/dairy free! Highly recommend!
Delicious! First experience of Nepalese cuisine and was not disappointed. Staff were super helpful pointing out gluten free options from the menu. The chicken chow mein was the best ever experienced in the US.
We returned and ate in. Yum!
