Perhaps a bit dumb of a thing to walk away with, of all the possible places to get food in New Orleans, of the multitudes of cajun options, taco places, beignets, whatever else there is to do in NOLA, but this was my favorite place I ate at during my entire time here. We decided to walk back from the zoo to see everything in between there and the downtown area for something besides the French Quarter and this was the perfect place for a meal, especially in the heat of New Orleans (pre?)-summer. I don't know how bad the weather here gets (personal opinion here, everyone has theirs), and this was extremely refreshing in terms of both the welcoming environment that the owner sets up and the immediate calm that a humble side cafe leaves. I've never had shawarma, or whatever it is, because that looks like a wrap and I'm sure I didn't eat any gluten that I could see here, but it was all-encompassing. It might've been high heat at 2:00 pm exhaustion, I don't know. Perfect timing here is transcendental, and the owner is reserved and friendly and lets you enjoy this place however you want. I'm sure you can find tons of great places on Magazine Street, and this stuff did wonders after a couple miles and 80+ (I'm not very heat tolerant) degrees.
This is one of my favorite restaurants as a celiac! The only thing I miss out on is the bread. Fries are safe and delicious. Everything else is amazing too
Wonderful place to eat. The wait staff was very knowledgeable Gluten-free options and what to avoid and recommended substitutions where suitable. Super friendly. The food was amazing, the best hummus I've ever had. The salmon over aromatic rice and shrimp kabobs were also very delicious. The place was a little load but classy casual.
Excellent dining experience. I've been to many Olive Garden locations in many states and this was the best. Great seafood and nicely done gluten free options.
The spaghetti and meatballs are great! Would love to have more gluten-free entrees and even gluten-free breads, too.
Rosemary/olive oil/balsamic vinegars with the rosemary bread would be incredible.
Excellent experience. Authentic Grerk, mediterranean food. Rack of lamb, potatoes with lemon, roasted, Greek salad, and a gluten free chocolate dessert with figs and cherries I think.
Excellent service, great food selections and gluten-free options. The chef actually came out and discussed my allergy. Very impressive. They have a delicious Italian Margarita. Will visit again!👍🏾💯
Restaurant was freezing cold. Waiter started off a little rough, he immediately called over a manager when I mentioned I had a gluten allergy, and the manager seemed to know nothing, asking about if I could have oil and herbs and such. I had already looked at their menu online to determine what was gluten free and what was safe, manager did not seem to know what was gluten free and what wasn’t, or even what gluten was. Waiter got better, he even brought me prepackaged salad dressing since he said the salad dressing and croutons were right next to each other in the kitchen. Food was good but the salmon and broccoli were swimming in oil. Overall okay experience, wasn’t great but wasn’t terrible.
The best Lebanese/middle eastern food on the planet. Incredible in every way, has been a staple in my life since childhood. Great gluten free, vegan, vegetarian options for literally anyone. Service is always friendly, my only request is to please bring back the iced mint tea!!
I had them cater a lunch for my office and it was delightful. Everyone was thrilled with the food and took home leftovers afterward. Can’t recommend them enough, particularly if you’re trying to get food for a group. Vegetarian or gluten free, no problem. It was all delicious and I’ll be 100% going back in the future.
Had a bowl at Cava. So full of flavor and absolutely delicious. I have Celiac disease so I’m allergic to gluten and they had an allergen menu available. I was Able to eat safely and it was just SO yummy!!!! The blueberry lavender lemonade is divine!!!!!!! The lady recommended the dressings that tasted so good. 10/10 highly recommend
The falafels are excellent. The humus and tahini are so fresh. I’ve been twice in 3 days and will go back at least a third before I leave NOLA.
They are very knowledgeable about gluten free options as well.
If you want freshly made and excellent food you can feel good about eating, then I highly recommend Cleo’s.
We came in with a big group and their friendly and accommodating service made for a great meal experience. They were able to make something for folks with different dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, etc) and the flavors were awesome. I got the Mediterranean fish plate, it was filling and flavorful! Check them out
First time here and they did not disappoint!!! I got the falafel plate with 2 sides of falafel and I love love love it! I am vegan and gluten free by the way. They were so kind and very accommodating to my dietary needs.
The green hot sauce is very delicious. The flavor makes you want more and heat lingers in your mouth. The perfect amount of heat. I will definitely be back.
Customer service and Food is amazing!!! Thank you so much! I would have taken a picture but it's almost all gone
I love all their food, The Chicken Shawarma
my only advice would be to some how make the falafel as hot and fresh as they do while also having it be a little less dry on the inside. My girlfriend loved their falaffel for her vegetarianness, and I love them for their gluten-freeness, so that is why I am even offering any incite <3
I personally can’t eat gluten but really wanted the Philly Cheese Steak taste, so they went out of their way to make me a Philly Cheese Steak Bowl! It was incredible (definitely recommend trying it out with a side of fries) and they were so kind to do that in the first place! 10/10 try Shawarma on the Run!
I always come here for amazing gluten free food. I have SEVERE celiacs disease and this is one of the only spots I can trust. Been here hundreds of times and never gotten sick. Mary at the highland location was extra kind today and made me the best steak bowl, so I had to write a review! Great job Cava at hitting all the marks.
Great atmosphere for a casual place. Certainly not white table cloth but still a nice place. Unique menu with gluten free options including cauliflower crust pizza. They also offer a nice cocktail and wine selection. We will be back for sure!

The food is delicious and well plated. Perfect proportions. The interior is cute, cozy & quiet. The butcher paper on the table was awkward and confusing. Our server seemed confused by gluten-free and dairy-free options. All-in-all, though, it was a great meal and a good experience.
