I'm gluten free not always easy to find a good place to eat.But found Kayak Kafe' had a turkey avocado sandwich that was amazing! A small salad with cilantro lime dressing freshly made in house was one of the best dressings I have ever had. My husband had a cucumber lemonade that was delicious! Would visit again if ever I'm in town.
We eat here about once a month, and I absolutely LOVE enjoying the Pork Belly Tacos with a Hazy IPA on the outdoor patio with some fantastic weather.
My partner is both Gluten Free (Celiac) and vegetarian, and she’s never had tummy problems after eating here. There aren’t a ton of taco options for her to choose, but she REALLY enjoys the fried plantains & street corn. Then there’s usually 2-3 taco options as well.
I had the taco dinner. Let me tell you - the food was EXCELLENT! I will definitely make this a regular place to eat. As a person who eats gluten-free, I love they have a separate menu board with LOTS of options.
Such an unexpected and wonderful little place. The food was fantastic and there are so many gluten-free options. I would recommend anyone visiting Tybee Island make a point of having drinks or a meal here.
I can’t say enough about how amazing this burrito bowl was! Every bite was packed with flavor, from the perfectly seasoned rice to the tender and fresh toppings. The guacamole was creamy, the salsa added just the right kick, and the corn and black beans brought everything together with a delightful crunch and burst of sweetness. I loved the freshness of the ingredients. They had great gluten free options.
They were very considerate of my gluten allergy and I had no reactions to their food! They have baked chips that are gluten free if you ask and they have a gluten free menu as well. I got the beef Enchiladas and it was sooo good! The waiter was still in training but was very very good. Definitely will be back!
WOW this place is a little tucked away but so amazing. Entirely gluten free kitchen and attentive staff! Shout out to Adrianna and Noelle. We had a wonderful lunch with generous portions of guac, queso, and salsa and super flavorful tacos a la carte! Thank you for being open on the 4th of July!
Had a great first experience here!! I am celiac and they were able to accommodate! The staff was super helpful and extremely friendly! Elijah was awesome at the bar and made killer mocktails for me! Will be back!
I had the opportunity to stop by today. Jade was my waitress. She caught on when I mentioned I wanted to order something gluten free and told me the chips were unsafe! Which is awesome, and means a lot to me. I have a fear of going out due to cross-contamination getting me sick and she looked out for me.
She brought me new, safe chips which were delicious. Other folks with a gluten allergy, consider checking this place out!
Ordered to go so we could picnic while waiting for the fireworks. They were super busy but the order came out quickly. I needed gluten free so asked for crunchy tacos with rice and the grilled veggies. When my order was brought to our location and everything was taken out I was given an extra side of rice & charged for it and flour soft tacos which I couldn't eat. Our bill was over $100 and not that good as far as seasoning etc... The chili burger was very dry, fries were soggy, chips were a bit stale, queso and wings were good. Burritos were ok, just not well seasoned for Mexican. Our 3 to go drinks were $10 & in a tiny plastic cup with no lid or straw. Very disappointed especially since the bill was so high and Mexican is my absolute favorite. Next year we will stick with Red Bug pizza and wings for sure.
I am a celiac. I walked in knowing how to pick apart the menu to feed myself. Started asking questions and realized quickly this was not a safe place for me to eat. While this normally would be someone giving a negative review, I want to give a positive. Our server quickly prevented me from getting seriously ill. That’s integrity that never gets noticed. Excellent drink choice, finding my favorite original sin cider being served. Tried a sip of my partners mix drink and loved it. Wish I could’ve ate food but thank you for not making me ill. High praise.
I have food allergies (Celiac) and it is typically difficult eating at restaurants. I can’t believe how friendly, helpful, and attentive every employee was.
The manager Jessica came over from the beginning after I asked the Host for an allergy menu. She was very knowledgeable and able to help me order with ease.
The food was incredibly fresh and I didn’t have any reactions from Gluten. Jessica checked on me multiple times and the Host even came over to check in and make sure I was able to order the food. They were very busy as well!
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone especially if you have a food allergy.
Nice little restaurant with very good homemade dishes and sides. The Guac is🔥🔥🔥 lots of pescatarian, vegetarian and gluten free options with the latter two being notated on the menu. My first time coming here was with my boss but when I was in the area again today I knew I had to come back. Pleasant stay that doesn't mind answering your questions and the service is so quick you barely have time to enjoy appetizers before your main course arrives. Cozy place and I'll definitely return, maybe next time for a date night.
Meal today was tres ceveche, guacamole and chips for appetizers and the grilled amberjack taco plate. Pics included🖤🙌🏽🥰
DONT GO IF YOU HAVE CELIAC! Stopped here after seeing posts about them having GF options. Their menu had stars next to options that were “gluten free”. The woman that took our order asked how severe my allergy was and I explained I have celiac. She said they were unable to accomodate me. They dont have separate fryers or counters that do not come in contact with gluten.
Road trip back to Tampa from Knoxville and I was craving some Mexican chicken soup, a healthy gluten free go to of mine. You never know what you’re going to get sometimes, so I was taking a chance. The soup here is exactly what I was hoping for. It’s flavorful, not too salty, not spicy, a lot of chicken and veggies, and lime with fresh avocado. I will definitely be adding this restaurant to the road trip favorites! Jaqueline was our server and she was very sweet and helpful. I’m sure there are other delicious menu items, but this hit the spot!
Dairy/vegan free & gluten free options available! I love this place. The line is always long but worth the wait! If you grab a drink at the bar, then wait in line with friends you won't even notice you are waiting! The food is delicious and when the weather is nice it's a perfect place to go!
A local gem with wonderful food at a reasonable price! We’ve visited at least once or twice a month for the last year and it never disappoints. They have extensive gluten free options and a salsa bar. We also love their outdoor patio and margaritas/cocktails. Love this place!
We are so glad we discovered Curious Cantina! It has become one of our favorite go-to places for Happy Hour and more. They have a great indoor dining area, and, we LOVE their outdoor space - lots of shaded seating and an outdoor bar as well. Bartenders and servers are friendly and attentive. During Happy Hour, there are several drink specials, and all of their tacos (served on handmade corn tortillas) are $3 each - yum!
Because of our experiences at CC, we hosted a family brunch there (about 20 people) on a Sunday last month. Morgan was great to work with planning the event from start to finish. We could not have been happier with the food, service and thoughtful “extras” provided that day. An added bonus (for our family anyway), is that Curious Cantina is great for those with a gluten allergy, including a dedicated fryer. And the freshly made tortilla chips are addicting!
Love the Taco Stache and we go every time we are in town. Love the nachos and they are gluten free too. The chips are thin and crisp. Margaritas are very good also. Everything we have tried is very delicious.
We love this restaurant. Plenty of gluten free options, and a menu that could feed you a different meal for each day of the week!!! Always a pleasure. Best chips and salsa in town!!!
This meets my lunch needs well. I can get rice, beans, chicken, and vegetables for under $10 for a filling lunch. It is made fresh in front of me. The line goes pretty quickly.
I don't do dairy, gluten, soy or nuts and this place makes that easy. It has better selection than Chipotle and better quality than Moe's.
There are days when the line is too long or the crew is a little off but they are few and far between. It's a reliable winner.
Great food, super fast service. Mildly busy when we arrived, we ordered at counter, by the time we got drinks and sat down, it was maybe 4 minutes until our food arrived. Fresh, yummy, nice atmosphere, good margarita. We were traveling and this honestly took no more time than Chipotle, but was 10x better. Oh and handled my gluten and dairy allergy well, I didn't get sick.
Told the staff of my allergy prior to them preparing my food. They changed their gloves and had only one person handle my food down the line. Super happy they were concerned with the safety of my food. It's hard eating out sometimes, and at times I feel like an inconvenience, but I felt absolutely safe eating here. Especially with how they handled it all. Fellow celiacs, feel safe knowing our gluten allergy isn't taken lightly!
