Disappointingly, despite numerous gluten-free options on the menu, we were informed that nothing could be safely prepared for coeliacs due to shared cooking surfaces. We were surprised they couldn't accommodate with a clean pan or similar. We finished our drinks and we're then rolled they could do the tacos safe. Make sure you ask all the questions.
Comfortable atmosphere. We had rice paper rolls, the laksa and Vietnamese chicken curry which were all delicious and they were able to make everything gluten free (coeliac).
Nice gluten free options, staff were knowledgeable about which items could be made coeliac safe and were thorough in avoiding cross contamination for me, thank you!
Beautiful spot to enjoy a lazy breakfast, lunch, coffee, or smoothie. Amazing views of the beach. The menu is great, food & drinks were delicious. Good gluten-free, dairy free options. Their is an area of lawn beside the cafe for kids to run around. Outdoor seating for those with dogs. It's definitely a great spot to visit đ
Apparently provides gluten free as mentioned on menu. Ordered a gluten free brownie.. thought the crumb was a little biscuit like.. worst fears confirmed .. was a gluten crumb - went from bad to worse - told 'not sure if brownie gf' ..
Unbelievable
If you are gluten free, do not eat here
The whole experience was fantastic. My husband is coeliac and loved the food. Lots of different dishes for him to eat. It's great to be able to go out and not have to worry about him becoming seriously ill. We both loved it.
I have coeliac, but I was totally fine eating here. There were heaps of gluten free options and all delicious! Really friendly staff. Definitely going back.
If you have a dietary require You have to come here. My husband is limited in what he can eat at the moment & eating out hadnât been easy. No Gluten, no dairy, no eggs & no nuts. We have been here twice in a row due to the amazing service. The staff know their menu and were able to give multiple recommendations.
We came here the second night as we went to another high end restaurant and were looked at like freaks & told no.
The food tastes wonderful & I highly recommend it.
Ps David is a fabulous waiter!
Great location overlooking beach, great layout, and fit out. Despite being quite open, it had enough corners that it was not super noisy.
Menu was extensive, good df and gluten-free options. Lunch was divine, chicken & avocado open grill with delicious salad & chips, yum.. i would return for that routinely! Sandwiches are good. Juice & smoothies were yummy, too.
Service was friendly & fairly efficient. The only reason I gave it 4, not 5 stars, was that service could be improved. Table service would be an improvement. Also, when we went up to order, we were enquiring about menu items & she was not super helpful. The food was a bit slow coming out, but service was ok, it just seemed rushed (it was busy). Table water.. filling jugs yourself was a pain.. can they not be prefilled in a better container? This took ages, it was a very slow filter, gave up after halfway. Small matters, but resolved, could make it a 5/5
Overall, I enjoyed our lunch & would return.
The food was good and except for the pasta salad gluten free, the bar had nonalcoholic beer and wine which was great too. BUT our whole experience was ruined because Reception at the campground (which is dog friendly) told us we could bring our dog with us for dinner to this pub. However, when I politely asked the staff upon arrival where we could sit with our dog to have dinner I got the most unpleasant, unfriendly response that dogs were not allowed and we should read the sign with the rules ( in the middle of the restaurant where we were not allowed. I mentioned that reception sent us and asked if we should go away. Again a rude response and when I turned the staff member said, well you can site at the table in the far corner, we went there to be told by yet another staff member that we could not sit there. Turns out we could sit at the table and chairs outside the restaurant where the people wait for the bus.
We did sit there and got our drinks and food and ate in the sigarette smoke of the other unfavourite guests. We spoke to other people with a dog who ate at the uncovered tables close to the BBQs but we were not allowed to sit there.
This pub should have a look at the brewery in Alice Springs for example where they allow dogs in the beer garden. Just a few more dig friendly tables is not that hard to set up.
And it is even easier to be friendly and say unfortunately you can't sit under the roof but we have a couple of tables you can use, apologies for the terrible location, this is all we have.
We stopped here for dessert after the Field of Light experience.
The staff were unsure if we could dine just for dessert which was a bit frustrating. Surely that's not an issue?
We got the one gluten free dessert item on the menu, the chocolate Rosella. It was really lovely and we were happy to share it.
The menu outside the restaurant clearly marks what is gluten free (most of it is) which is great given it's one of the more high end venues at Yulara.
Went here twice while visiting Darwin - once on a Sunday lunch/afternoon and then again on a Tuesday dinner/late evening. Both times were great - nice staff and food really tasty and fresh. Great vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Recommended! Thanks :)
Lovely traditional Irish pub on the inside & seating overlooking the waterfront outside. The meals were standard prices, service was friendly and food was really nice. Good dietary options for gluten-free & dairy free folk. Yummy steak & lamb shanks, vegetables were good. Great specials, too. We did go on a Thursday, so it was a bit quiet, which was pleasant. The only improvements were that the window sils by the booths overlooking outside were a bit dusty & the mash was a bit chunky in parts, but good.
Apparently, they have live music sometimes as well, which would be great. Recommend a visit.
