First time I’m downtown Ft. Myers and I ordered the gluten free cheese pizza and it did NOT disappoint! I imagined being gluten free it would taste mediocre boy was I wrong. If I could give 10stars I would. The waitress however was lackluster. She got my drink order wrong. I asked for Mezcal and she brought me a glass of Moscato. After the mixup she advised Mezcal is only served on certain days 🤔. I ordered an Old fashioned and it was garbage. I waited 40 minutes for my food and only saw her 3 times. Once to take my drink order, once to take my food order and then to bring the check. It was a Thursday night and the tables were pretty empty so it wasn’t due to the crowd. I still would go again for the amazing tasting pizza and stick with a glass of wine! 🍕
I try to eat healthier and here I can enjoy pizza with no guilt. They even offer gluten free options .... other than salad. Really great pizza and sides.
PF Chang's has some gluten free options that are tasty! Teelra, our waitress, was wonderful working with our special order and was very knowledgeable about allergens.
I agree with the other reviewers who felt this is one of the better Italian restaurants in the area. Had the House Favorite with Sausage which was excellent. I appreciate they offer Gluten Free pasta and pizza since that expands my options. Portions were big and prices very reasonable. Server checked on us often. Looking forward to going back.
When the gluten-free pizza hit the table, I felt like I’d been sucker-punched by good intentions gone wrong. The crust wasn’t just bad—it was a culinary crime scene. Dull brown, spongy, and so undercooked it could’ve doubled as a prop in a zombie flick, it sat there under a blanket of melted cheese and toppings like a secret the kitchen was desperate to hide. If it weren’t for that cheese, stringy and forgiving, you’d swear this thing never saw the inside of an oven. I wanted to love it, I really did. But this crust? It’s the kind of thing that makes you question why you left the house.

Excellent experience here. I have Celiac disease and while they don’t have a designated gluten-free menu, they have gluten-free items marked on their regular menu. I had a cheeseburger on a gluten free bun with mashed potatoes and broccoli (wanted to avoid fries since they likely are in a shared fryer). It was a really good burger. My husband loved his burger too. Our kids were also happy with their meals. Very cool decor on the inside. There is limited street parking, but there is a parking ramp just around the block. Located in Downtown Fort Myers. Would love if they added gluten-free appetizers like a shrimp cocktail or something.
The waitresses/waiters are always so nice! However we HARDLY EVER eat out due to gluten/dairy allergies. My oldest daughter wanted BJ’s for her birthday so we went. We stressed my twins allergies and made sure our waitress knew as soon as we ordered. She’s said she completely understood because her mom also had celiac. Her knowing the severity and us stressing I thought it would be ok. We ordered from the Gluten Free menu stressing that version no toppings. My 12 year old didn’t catch the butter that was on the salmon. Within 2 bites was instantly sick. These issues carry over and wreck her body for the entire day! Anyone who has celiac knows the danger! It was served to her at the normal recipe throwing her into a painful evening. I knew better than to eat out. We don’t for this exact reason but wanted to for our oldest. Next time we’ll pack her own food to make sure.
I’m only leaving this review to help anyone who may be ordering specialty menu items. Allergies are NOT taken seriously. Inspect your food first! Cross contamination or food allergies may be ignored! It’s not worth the evening that follows!
The rest of the food and service was wonderful! I didn’t say anything while we were there until after we paid. Our bill was over $200 we weren’t wanting anything off and understand accidents happen. As a mama who couldn’t help my child from the aftermath I felt I needed to warn others that may have allergies!
I had a gluten free cheese burger and fries. I WISH we had a Culver's in NJ! This will be a must when I'm in the area again. Thank you Culver's for a great GG meal!
Great place to eat pizza if you’re in a hurry!!! They serve it within 5-10 minutes and it’s delicious. You can customize it. Gluten free options. Great customer service and lots of space, indoor and outdoor.
We are vacationing from Ft. Lauderdale and heard about this famous diner. It was incredible!. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed by the best hostess who was very happy to meet us. She introduced us to our server, Cody, who went above and beyond to making sure our first experience would be a memorable one. Their famous fish sandwich was perfect and Cody made sure I would have gluten free bread. Cody is outstanding and I was not surprised to hear customers return and request for his service. Will definitely return on our next visit. I wish I knew the blonde hostess’ name who made sure she said goodbye Fort Lauderdale as we were leaving. The friendliest people, service and delicious food A++!
We had the sweetest server tonight and the best slring sangria ever. Its always a pleasure! Mind you we are a couple where one is vegan and one is gluten free and we always eat so well here
If you have food sensitivities read this.
We sat at Hibachi.
My wife is gluten free and allergic to fish. She is always very embarrassed when we go out to eat and she has to ask for accommodations however, tonight she was trying to just speak plainly and get her food. She asked to have her meal prepared in the kitchen so they could accommodate the allergies and sensitivities. Our chef, "white rice" was great. And the food was good (too small of portions though. I left hungry) but my wife did not receive her meal until AFTER everyone else had eaten and the chef had clean the grill and left. When it came it had shrimp on it. My wife mentioned she can't eat the shrimp to which the waiter claimed "you never told me!" YES, she did tell you. Anyway, after making my wife feel even more embarrassed about her food allergies they bring the check before they have fixed the problem and brought my wife her food. And yes they were expecting me to still pay full price. Luckily I had a nice woman at our table fight for us to get a small discount based on the service.
If you have food allergies. Do not go here! Not worth the struggle. Not worth your money.
Oh also, they only refilled my water once during the meal and my glass was empty for 30 min.
Last evening, nine of us went to celebrate a friends birthday dining together. I can say this was the worst experience of service I have ever had. First we ordered drinks and the drinks came wrong. After that we ordered our food and the food slowly came to our table. I was served the wrong meal and we waited for our waitress so we could tell her what happened, this plate sat in front of me for at least 5 minutes. My plate was taken and given to the person sitting next to me after the server had put it down in front of me and told me it was a flat iron steak. The person next to me ordered a filet mignon. Please note that the steak had sat in front of me at least five minutes and then given to the person next to me, yes it was cold. Now the rest of the table was being served their food. We have one that is gluten-free and had ordered a gluten-free meal. In front of her was a plate with macaroni and cheese and a steak which no one had ordered at our table. Two of us sat and waited for our food to be brought to us. When my food came It was ice cold, for instance refrigerator cold I waited for the waitress to come and told her My food was cold. She offered to take it back and reheat it. The gluten-free friend got her meal and could eat as I waited for my food. Everyone at the table finished eating. When my food finally came out, I told them to box it as I was not going to eat and have a table of eight people Wait for me. At this time, the manager came to our table and told us he talked to the Cook and bartender and that he would make things right. My food was boxed and sat in front of me. The waitress brought our bills as we were paying individually or as couples. I was presented with a full bill after the manager said that he would take care of it. I asked for the manager back and he said why would I do that? Needless to say I gave back my food and went home without eating, very disappointed in Firestone. Everyone at the table was in shock!
Nasty nasty nasty - Andre, the OWNER was already distasteful over the phone when I called to ask if they had gluten free pasta. They do; so I decide to drive over. When I arrived and asked questions about the food ingredients of certain entrees, he told me to leave! Verbatim. When I asked why, he said I was giving him an attitude by wanting/ ordering the food to my specifications.
Best gluten free pizza around. Love that they cook it in its own separate foil pan to prevent cross contamination. Amazing quality ingredients and always fresh!
After the mall closed I decided to grab a quick bite at Monarcas. I went to the bar to have my dinner and Mario the bartender was very attentive to my needs. I have to eat gluten Free and Mario was well informed and let me know what my options were. They also have the gluten free options clearly marked on the menu which is a big bonus! Mario was a great bartender and made the perfect pina colada! The steak fajitas hit the spot! I will definitely go back to sit at the bar with Mario! He is a very friendly and knowledgeable bartender. Don’t forget to save room for the Flan!! It’s Gluten Free!
We stopped in on an early afternoon, and there were a handful of people at the bar. Our bartenders were friendly and made us feel welcome. We split a gluten free pizza and it was very good.
Overall- the atmosphere is the best part, don't come here expecting great food. I would recommend it if you want to stop for a drink on a hot day. They do have a pool, with drink service. Our food was just ok, presentation is unremarkable. I had the fried Mahi fish tacos, which were worse than the fish tacos at home, in Wisconsin which was very disappointing. The waiter swapped the blackened tacos and the grouper tacos we ordered. When we tried confirming which was which, he agreed and yet was incorrect. My daughters chicken meal was overcooked. We also ordered a gluten free salad, which came with croutons on it. When my dad ordered his gluten free burger, it came on a bun. I would not recommend Boathouse for anyone with an allergy as they do not seem to know how to properly serve their guests with care and concern. We waited around a lot as well, for water and our bill. I had really been looking forward to the experience, go for the atmosphere and drinks! Go elsewhere for food.
I stopped at Burntwood Tavern for lunch. The chef Jessica personally came out to discuss our gluten free options as well as address my son’s food allergies. She was so kind and knowledgeable and made the experience memorable. We will definitely be going back.
5 pepper burger missing all ingredients, server returned it and brought back something. It had all the ingredients but they were falling all over the plate, cheese wasn't melted. No real care taken in the foods preparation or presentation. Gluten free English muffin was terrible. Burnt on one side and doughy on the other. Tasted fine. Fries were good, nice and crispy. Milkshake was good too, Strawberry. Service was fine. Friendly knowledgeable. Would not rush to return.
I'm not even done eating yet and I'm posting. This will absolutely be my go to ramen spot. My girl is vegan and I'm gluten free and we just had these big old bowls of ramen. The miso kimchi broth is everything and the rice noodles are perfect. Well done!! I'm so happy this is by my house!
