We visited the Ames location for the first time for a birthday and it was delicious! The service was prompt and attentive. Great selection of mocktails. Loved that it is quiet and you can easily carry on a conversation with others--even in a large group. Lots of gluten free options if you need those!
It is a great place to enjoy food really good food. They have gluten-free options for fish and burgers, which is a huge awesome. I hope to see the menu grow.
The owner is very involved. A safe place. They did have a good selection of games to play in the corner, but it needs to be restocked.
The parking is awful, but trivia is so fun. Trivia Tom is the best, and Cam is your go-to for anything. Melissa knows how to pour a proper Guinness.
I love how involved the owner is within the community. You'll see him mowing grass, fixing things, and still will stop to have a good chat.
Best of all, dog friendly outside area.
Great food, service and atmosphere! Fabulous gluten free choices, way beyond just salads, buns and pizza crust!
Edit: Someone asked about accessibility. Entrance and flooring accessible. Don't recall how roomy the women's restroom was.
Service was great. Room was freezing, I even had a sweatshirt on. Food was mediocre. I ordered street corn bowl with chicken. I was expecting more corn and black beans, I got a few pieces of corn and a few beans with a lot of rice. Chicken was dry. There was no pico de gallo on it and I did not see any cotija cheese. Needed more sauce as whole dish was kind of dry. My sister's fries were too dark. My husband is gluten free so few choices for him. He asked for their homemade potato chips and we had to pay 9.99 for a bowl of chips, as he had to order the truffle potato chips and leave all the seasoning off. Won't go back.
Gluten-free pizza is very expensive I order gluten-free pizza because I have to not because I want to and then when you tack on a large delivery fee because of that one pizza and a salad over $50 because it's gluten-free not fair I have to have it delivered because I can't drive
Absolutely love the pizza at this place. Hubby grew up eating this stuff and I envy him. We used to always get the wheat thick crust which is great. They have honey to spread in the crust--think of it as pre-dessert. This last time we got the white flour thin crust. Delicious! They have all combinations of crusts (Denver!) and I think they even have a gluten-free, but check yourselves. All the tables, chairs, and booths are grimy and the entire place could use a power wash and renovation. It wouldn't be the same as in the 1970's though. 😁
