Visited following new owners taking over. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Had a nice meal but was disappointed to see that the new menu is very limited.. only six meals to choose from for dinner. much preferred the previous menu which was vast and could be ordered lunchtime through to dinnertime. Bring back the Macanara burger!!!! Was also disappointed to see that there wasn't one Gluten free option for dessert which is a shame as each of the dinner options could be gluten free on request...the 'brookie' was always a favourite!!!? I know that it is mainly a vegan restaurant but previous owners really catered for gluten free requirements across the menu and with cakes and bakes etc. We also ordered a non alcoholic beer and was told there was only one available for some reason. Would be nice to see a bigger range of alcohol free options and to have more than just one available to buy. The food itself was great and flavoursome. I did leave with a lovely chia smoothie bowl which I had for breakfast and it was delicious. I would definitely pop in for lunch perhaps to try that but dinnerwise....it felt a bit lacking for me.
Small portion of food (bolognese-had more onions and tomato bits then meat). Gluten free pasta was dry and was not very hot when served. Had to wait long time for the waiters. No on the house snack was brought to our table. Wine was served warm.
So upset. Told them I was vegan and wheat free a number of times! They said they could make me a number if things that would be vegan and wheat free. So I order a vegan cheeze and vegan bacon toastie or gluten free bread. It’s so hard for me to eat out, I was really hungry and excited!
However, then they put real bacon in my toastie with the vegan cheeze, I discovered it as I took an huge bite on the train home!!!
I haven’t eat meat for such a long time and have been vegan for years!!!
I’m furious and disgusted!
Located in the Chapel Walk area just off the High Street, this is a part of a chain of restaurants which offers a good range of choice.
Our table enjoyed the 2 course set price offer which was good value for the money. The Fried Halloumi starter featured perhaps the best halloumi fries I’ve ever had. And the grilled chicken was tasty if a bit dry. My friend enjoyed her burger and we shared a lemon meringue sundae afterwards which was nice.
Top props for the team who were very attentive to a gluten allergy/coeliacs restriction. Will eat here again.
I came with a couple friends for dinner on a Saturday night, Maggie was our server and she was very attentive and friendly. I am coeliac and ate from the gluten free menu, this was taken very seriously and all my drinks and meals were brought out separately which impressed me.
It's so refreshing to eat in a local restaurant rather than a 'pub with food' and the gluten free menu is extensive.
Naomi looked after us very well and always service with a smile.
Lovely Valentines lunch.
Great food, handled my gluten free request no problem, milk shake was amazing. Not overly busy, large seating area. Only issue was the WiFi was slow so couldn't order using the qr code
Fantastic! What a great place, delicious food and the team were great with everything gluten free for my partner....
You've got to try the corndogs (not gf though)
I’ve been eating here for nearly 5 years now and it’s one of my go-to restaurant whenever I’m in Worcester as they cater so well to gluten allergies. I love the variety and quality of the menu - again having an allergy is difficult as most places don’t have a wide selection but Burger Shop, I feel I have a better customer experience. I would definitely recommend :)
lovely food and great service! since i'm vegan and my sister is coeliac, places we both enjoy are few and far between but The Little Bento Box is a winner! 5/5
Fantastic coffee and cakes 4 vegan cakes to choose from and gluten free to choose also. The cakes were massive slices. Very friendly and helpful staff. Everywhere very clean and tidy. There's nearby parking and it's a short walk from Cathedral
We went here for brunch but sadly there were no gluten free options.
All the dishes are pre prepared.
It took us 15 minutes to find something without gluten in it!
The waiters were very attentive and friendly. They were busy serving and trying to replenish breakfast items, which was too much for them to do at time.
The breakfast was very nice, although we actually preferred it when you could help yourself. The cooked breakfast arrived about 5 minutes after ordering it, and we hadn't had our cereal. Consequently, it was getting cold by the time we did eat it. I needed gluten-free bread, and that came with the cooked breakfast rather than later, to have with honey etc.
Nice atmosphere. Food was good. Lots of really good gluten free options. Nice background music. Unfortunately it was a cold day and the heating didn’t seem to be on. My daughter said she noticed the same issue the last time she went there.
Delicious food, served beautifully and quickly. The restaurant itself is charming with a 5 star rating by my son on the cleanliness of the men's restroom. The service was very good, with a special note that the gentleman who seemed to be the owner, is incredibly charming, friendly, and thoughtful.
I have to eat gluten-free due to allergy. This restaurant was extremely gluten-free friendly, with many menu items on the GF safe list from every category, including carrot cake (in my opinion - this is a miracle!).
Overall, extremely satisfied customers!
