The food, service, and atmosphere are amazing! The only drawback of this Cafe is the hours of operation. It's in an office building, and in a very commercial part of the city so I totally understand but I also wish I had the option of swinging by and grabbing dinner before I head home.
I had a Mediterranean salad that was very well portioned, filling and delicious. They made it to order so it's totally gluten friendly and dairy free.
I would absolutely recommend this place for lunch to relax or a lunch meeting. They also sell GIANT bags of Cafe Moto coffee and support several other local brands which I love. Check them out!
We waited about 30 minutes to be seated. Which was a bit of a bummer because it looked like their were open tables.
On the upside Jonah was so helpful with list of food allergy questions. He checked with the chef to see which dishes would work for my gluten sensitivity.
Something to note: Rakiraki has multiple locations and this is the only one that offers gluten free options. I have not tried it yet, but I found out while visiting the other locations that Convoy is the only GF option one.
Fish was fresh, toppings were satisfactory- only complaints were lack of gluten-awareness with some of the toppings (although they did offer a gluten free sauce at an extra charge) and also an extra charge for things like cucumbers and onions which made me feel like they were nickel and diming me. Otherwise, great poke!
Under new ownership. Unfortunately, they haven’t taken down the old photos of the dishes they no longer have that are still posted when you walk in. However, their smaller menu is delicious. The banchan was tasty but spicy which some may not like. We took a friend that was gluten free and they server did the best he could to accommodate and even went above and beyond to check some ingredients to make sure. Everything we had was delicious, the 3 of us shared 4 dishes and were more than full. The new owners definitely made sure to step up their game as we didn’t enjoy the place when we went years ago.
I eat a lot of pho, at a lot of places. This is one of the best places to have pho and they also do it gluten-free. My daughter has celiac disease and a real gluten allergy. She only eats at places that guarantee their gluten free food preparation.
We were glad we had reservations, because there were lots of people waiting to get in! The food and service were amazing! My sister had the gluten-free ramen, and it was very tasty! When I get back to San Diego, I'll go back!
