Cute spot, tasty food, good service. Overall it was a lovely experience. Admittedly, I don't give out 5 across the board unless it's a flawless experience. The food was good. We ordered chilliquiles, and gluten free blueberry/lemon pancakes. Everything was tasty, and came out in a reasonable about of time. The server Esa was sweet, and did her job. It was just a basic experience. There were plenty of opportunities to recognize our needs that were missed. I had ordered a diet coke, and asked, before ordering if they had "diet coke" specifically. I was told yes. I was originally served coke in a bottle, so I immediately thought; either they only had coke, and she wasn't paying attention, or they had "coke light" and not actual diet coke. Both things made me no longer want the DC. However, I let her know it was a coke, when I had ordered diet; she did apologize and let me know she rang it in correctly, but somehow brought it out wrong. It was corrected, but as I suspected, it was Coke light. Not a huge deal....moving on.
When our food came out, we had said we were sharing, but we didn't have plates to do so. The food runner who dropped our food went back and got some. Fine, again, being not picky. Our glassware was left on the table even after the coke light bottle was empty, cocktail glasses empty, and water was empty for about 10 min before a refill. Their tiny (2) top table was tough for us to have anything extra, and since we were sharing, it was already a squeeze.
The ambiance was loud, and didn't feel warm. It was basically a big room, so we were all just plopped together. It was fine, since we were in a corner. Not ideal though, and if you were the unlucky party to sit in the wooden chair, and not in the booth, you would leave with an ache on your backside.
Highlights* Food was tasty, cocktail was delicious, but weak. Server was sweet, and the wait went quickly.
