Would be 5 stars, but as a long time client with celiac, I am so so disappointed that they have stopped taking gluten free seriously. I have been eating here many times for years with no issues. The food is absolutely delicious! Sadly, I went on Wednesday for lunch. I got a California burger on a gluten free bun. When I opened it I was concerned because it looked like a normal bun, so I went back to the window to check. The girl in the window told me it looked like their gluten free buns, but would go check with the chef. She came back and said that it was gluten free. Because I have eaten here safely so many times before, I ate it thinking they had new buns… and I’ve been sick since. I still figured it had to be something else since I trust them- but I went back today to get food for my family and the gf bun was the old usual gf bun and the regular bun is definitely the one I ate. And they look nothing alike! Looked up recent GF reviews and apparently there has been a huge downturn with safety efforts, so it’s not just me. I’m so sad to lose my favorite restaurant, but I hope to save some other regulars from getting sick.

We had an absolutely delightful evening at Home in Soquel. From start to finish, the experience was flawless, and our server, Lucy, was incredibly kind and sweet, making us feel right at home. We began with the focaccia bread and pâté de Monterey—a decadent combination of chicken liver and Gorgonzola cream. Both were rich and flavorful, a fantastic start to our meal. Next, we savored the H&H Dungeness crab salad, which was bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors. For the pasta course, we chose the Calamarata with Dungeness crab, saffron-braised tomato, and smoked roe, which was nothing short of outstanding. Every bite was perfectly balanced and luxurious. My partner opted for the popular gluten-free fried chicken, and it lived up to the hype—crispy, fresh, and downright delicious. I couldn’t resist the California strip loin, cooked medium-rare and accompanied by crispy potatoes, anchovy aioli, and wild mushrooms. It was a masterpiece—perfectly cooked and utterly heavenly. To cap off an already amazing meal, we indulged in the chocolate torte with orange candied persimmons. It was divine—rich, decadent, and the perfect way to end the night with a big smile on my face. The cozy atmosphere and warm, inviting ambiance truly make you feel like you’re eating at home (pun intended). It’s a dining experience that is as comforting as it is exceptional. 10/10 experience—we can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu! Highly recommended for anyone looking for outstanding food, top-notch service, and a cozy, memorable atmosphere.

Excellent food. Excellent & friendly service. It was raining but we had plenty of room to sit outdoors in a covered tent. A new favorite for us! Plus, GLUTEN-FREE bread available!
