I had finished an afternoon appointment and noticed The Sunny Pint adjacent to my location. I had also clipped their ad from a local newspaper and decided to try them for a takeout dinner on my way home. The taproom/eatery is women-owned and was established in 2019. They are open from Monday - Sunday 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Merchandise is available. An additional eatery is located in Ocala, FL.
Owners, Sue and Simone of The Villages originally started The Sunny Pint "as a side hustle hosting events and catering to The Villages and film productions from their camper van.” The restaurant wasn't particularly busy at 3:00. I looked at the menu on my phone before going inside. Benton greeted me and took my order quickly. I decided on a whole Cuban Sandwich (ham, roast, mojo pork, Swiss cheese, dill pickles mustard pressed on authentic Cuban loaf) and a Chicken Salad Wrap (white meat chicken salad with cranberries and almonds with crystal crunch lettuce, onions and tomato in a spinach wrap).
The Sunny Pint is known for their live music events; seating is first come first serve. Wednesday is trivia night from 6-8 p.m. Happy hour on select pints: $2 .00 off from 2-5 p.m. every day. Enjoy a variety of weekly food specials: Tuesday-Bratwurst Day; Fiesta Friday; Sunday Brunch. Vegetarian and gluten-friendly options; outdoor dining and dog-friendly patios make The Sunny Pint a fun place to dine.
They advertise "the largest selection of Florida craft beer on tap. Customers can look forward to a '"rotating selection of local and regional craft beers, many of which are sourced directly from local breweries." House, white, red and sweet wines are also available.
The sandwiches were well prepared and packaged carefully for the ride home. Both sandwiches were fresh and delicious. We had enough for another lunch the next day.
I will return to The Sunny Pint when in the Freedom Plaza area on SR 44 in Wildwood, FL.
My 8 yr old and 15 yr old grandkids attended the pizza making class and they loved it. They rated it a 9 and a 10! The food was great and they learned a lot. The best part for me was that I got to have a slice of pizza that didn't upset my gluten, dairy and mold intollerent digestive system. It was the first slice of real pizza that I've had in years. Bravo!
First Watch is a fantastic spot for breakfast, offering fresh and flavorful dishes that make the wait worthwhile. During our visit, we ordered the Avocado on gluten-free toast, Turkey Sausage Gravy Biscuit, Farmhouse Hash Bowl, Blueberry Pancakes, and Holey Donuts. Every dish was delicious, and the portions were generous—especially the pancakes, which were huge!
It’s great to see a few gluten-free options on the menu, making it a good choice for those with dietary restrictions. While First Watch is always busy and there’s usually a wait that also affects the service wait time, the quality of the food and the friendly service make it absolutely worth it. If you’re looking for a great breakfast spot, this is definitely one to try!
The staff here are professional, pleasant , courteous, fast working and always great you with a smile. The gluten free option is also a great bonus for me. Thank you.
It wasn't crowded at all, but it took more than an hour to get our food. Besides that, the cook messed up my husband's order which was supposed to be gluten-free - it wasn't. To be fair, they made good and got him a fresh new order and didn't charge us for the meal. The manager certainly deserves, at the very least, a shout-out for correcting the <possibly> costly mistake.
A beautiful hang out spot! Drinks, music, pet friendly, chill under the trees and relaxing. Surprisingly a lot of gluten free food options & everything tasted great and friendly service.
