Had the pulled pork nachos as a starter and then roasted salmon for dinner, the food was good! I had no symptoms after eating, so it’s safe to say they’re pretty good about avoiding cross contact! I tend to have severe reactions to gluten.
This place is amazing! Our family is gluten free and they helped accommodate all of our needs! The food was delicious and their atmosphere was fun. I would definitely recommend it, gluten free or not 💙
We had a great meal. Staff were knowledgeable about the Gluten Free aspects of their menu and were able to tell us what to avoid. Overall a great BBQ experience.
I went through the drive thru and Olivia was very helpful assisting me with food allergies. She called the manager out to assist with questions and then they took extra care in packing the food due to a gluten allergy, and assisted with dairy allergy for the grilling of the bread for the double burger. Come Back Shack fries their chicken tenders and breaded items separate from the french fries, so that helps with gluten allergies. Our burgers were excellent as well as the French fries. We will definitely be back!❤😋
It was good and extremely yummy had some leftovers to enjoy later on which were still delicious after re heating. Very attentive staff who checked in on us very occasionally. Tons of Gluten free options the only things you couldn’t get gluten free was the appetizers and chicken and waffles. Delicious fries
Now, before I get into this review…. I want to make it very clear that I am in no way shape or form a food expert or financially well off enough to know any better, but my god. This place is absolutely phenomenal. My boyfriend and I had a reservation tonight at 8pm and were there until about closing and the entire almost 2 hours was some of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had.
Firstly…. Our server. Our server Rebecca made the experience to the end of the moon and back better than it already was. She was quick to ask about any allergies and immediately accommodated my gluten sensitivity. It was very clear that her bubbly, kind, and outstanding personality was not just some performance for a paycheck. We could tell she enjoyed our company as we enjoyed hers.
Secondly…. The food, we got the emu tartare, the hanging tenderloin, the cottage pie, and for desert, the chocolate mousse. All of it was absolutely amazing and some of the best I’ve ever had. It was all perfectly cooked, extremely well seasoned, and very tender.
Conclusion…. Thank you to Ms Rebecca, the very talented chef that made the amazing food, and everyone else who gave such a warm welcome and amazing service. Will 1000000% be returning as soon as humanly possible.
Thank you again!! Haley and Collin from New Bern, NC.
We love that this restaurant is locally owned.
Very comfortable, laid back atmosphere. Great service. Delicious food! Reasonable prices.
I had half a sprout sandwich and a bowl of French onion soup for lunch and it was amazing! Perfect portion and loaded with veggies! Our waitress was super sweet and so nice.
And the best part for us are the gluten free options! My husband usually gets stuck with a salad or a bun-less burger, but Peppers has gluten free buns and gluten free sliced bread. He had over half the menu to choose from!
Let me start by saying the biscuits are excellent. Out-of-this-world good. I had the French toast made with gluten free biscuits and WOW were they delicious. (Be aware they are not celiac-friendly, though.)
Atmosphere: great, though the tables are cafe-style and very small.
I also had a side of scrambled eggs and they came out cold, unfortunately. My husband’s eggs were cold, too.
I also ordered a hot matcha. They charged me an extra dollar for milk (how else do you order it? With just water? Shouldn’t the milk in a matcha latte be included?) and it arrived in the world’s tiniest mug. That would have been ok I guess if half of the mug wasn’t filled with milk foam. It was literally half a cup of liquid, the rest foam. I asked if they allowed refills (because it was $6 and SUCH a tiny amount?) and she said no she would have to charge. Kind of a frustrating experience that eclipsed the great biscuits.
So moral of the story is: just get biscuits here. Get everything else somewhere else I suppose. There’s a reason the restaurant is named after biscuits.
Howard Station catered our wedding at Firerock Station this past weekend and the food was PHENOMENAL! We had multiple guests that said it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding, and our guests are still talking about it after. I have Celiacs Disease and they made sure that I had some options. Deja was an absolute pleasure to work with and made everything a breeze for us. Thank you Howard Station for being so great! ❤️
Very good food for good prices. Very small, interesting decor. I like that the menu shows you what is gluten free, diary free and vegan; it makes it much easier to pick something for those of us with dietary restrictions.
The Canteen is a great restaurant in the Lobby of the Rhodes Motel. The seating options are diverse. They have a bar with seating, long tables for groups, single tables for couples, outdoor seating with heaters, and an upstairs reclined seating table with a view out over the outdoor patio.
I had the Wagyu burger which was cooked just as I ordered. They have an option for a gluten free everything bun for the burger that is not on the menu.
The sweet potato fries were delicious.
The Canteen would be a great place to come for a casual night with friends or for a quick stop for a bite to eat.
Great vibes, gluten-free and vegan options, nonalcoholic options too! The people who work there seem to really take care of each other, and their patrons, and make sure that it’s the safe environment for everyone to the best of their ability.
Food was very good. Service was a little slow, but I will wait for fresh food. They have gluten free options. Food is more authentic than the rest of the Mexican restaurants in town. That is a big plus. It is a small restaurant in a bad location because of parking.
The delivery was a bit slow. There are plenty of gluten free options for gluten sensitive people. The variety available in drinks is also great and there are vegan pizza options as well.
Awesome place. Traveling through and stopped for dinner and drinks. The server was very helpful when I had questions about gluten free options, which they had several things to offer. I had the buffalo chicken salad sweet potato fries and the spinach and artichoke dip. Food came fast and was very tasty and wholesome for bar food. They had an excellent cider on draft and a gluten free beer in a bottle. My husband loved the house ale. Great music and very cool atmosphere.
We came earlier today for lunch and had a really nice experience, so we came back to order takeout for dinner, and when I asked for a gluten free bun (because I have celiac) the waitress, with red dyed hair, rolled her eyes at me and stomped off. When she came by, I asked if something was wrong and she put her hand up to my face and turned away. She refused to walk up to me to give me my credit card back. I have no idea why I was treated this way. This occurred at 6:30pm on 1/16/2022. The receipt says the bartender name is “Day”. If you’re the owner of this place, you need to reconsider the employment of this waitress. I’m 37 years old and have never been treated this badly by a waitress in my life.
