High ceilings and Southwest decor make Sweetwater Tavern a compelling restaurant. Great sandwiches and sides served by an attentive team of wait staff. They have their own beer on tap. The owners understand the needs of customers who have Celiac disease and offer gluten-free menu without being asked. Worth experiencing!
Harvey’s is a cool spot, really good food. We are foodies of the area, and their burgers are so good - their gluten free bun is THE BEST in town. Their wine selection is good. Everything is reasonably priced and great quality. We’ve been a number of times, never had bad service or had to wait on a check. Highly recommend.
This is one of the best restaurants in Falls Church and one that I frequent a lot with family and friends alike. I have never had a bad meal at Fava Pot and have been for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - their breakfast is particularly good! Their food is consistently fresh and tastes truly home-made (in the best way). I think I could eat their fava beans or falafel every day of my life and never get tired. The staff is always so friendly! I recently had a catered family-style event from Fava Pot and everyone loved it! Dina (the owner) called me and walked through how much food she thought we needed. We needed gluten-free food due to guests with Celiac and I was blown away with how much care and attention was given towards making sure the food was labeled and Celiac-safe. The catering process was easy and the food was presented beautifully. I would definitely recommend Fava Pot if you are considering them for catering your next event, or just want an amazing meal!
Great dinner! First time at Thompson’s which had a great selection of gluten free salads, pastas and dessert! The homemade gf pasta was the best I ever had! The gf lemon cheesecake was amazing- first time I loved the crust! Can’t wait to be back!
Pretty loud atmosphere and seating is first come first serve. But the food was good enough that I'd eat here again. I got the bacon breakfast sandwich on a gluten free biscuit and was so surprised the biscuit was so tasty, even my 4 year old liked it!
Favorite restaurant in Falls Church! Best atmosphere—feels like a vacation with Key West vibe and frequent entertainment. Great for kids. Tons of great vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options.
I decided to try this CAVA location instead of the other locations I usually go to. I always ask for no pita bread because i’m allergic to gluten so i ask for a bit more rice instead. for the first time in the 8 years i’ve went to CAVA, the worker said no to the extra rice and that it will cost extra. Needless to say, I will not be supporting this specific CAVA location due to the failure in accommodation. In terms of the food, it’s alright. I ordered chicken with basmati rice and some vegetables with eggplant and red pepper humus dip. with garlic dressing on the side.
Always have a great experience when I visit - ingredients are fresh and food is flavorful. On top of that, customer service is stellar. Antonio is a rockstar and helps navigate me through the menu and accommodations. There are plenty of vegetarian options but I have a gluten and dairy intolerance so appreciate how knowledgeable and patient he is.

They bring the food to the table. With metal forks and knives. I recommend they also get sturdy dine-in bowls. Clean setting. Polite staff. They ask how the food is, as servers do at full service restaurants. Gets quite busy in the evenings. Gluten-free pasta option. Tofu option. Good family spot. Booths and one large circular table. Outdoor seating in contemporary shopping plaza.
Besides oatmeal, and an overpriced avocado toast you can order with no egg/no protein, there’s nothing for vegans/plant-based eaters here. To the owners: I wish you put in a little effort to be more inclusive, especially in a place situated in the greater DC metro area. You can offer the option of serving the avocado toast with black beans on top. It’s so cheap and low-effort to use a batch of canned black beans with lemon, olive oil, and light seasoning and adding it on toast. You can easily offer egg and dairy-free pancakes (there are so many recipes online now, some even made with oat flour, which would also make it gluten-free as well). A vegan BLT made with tempeh-bacon or tofu-bacon is probably too much to ask for, but would also be great, some day in the future when more cafe-owners catch up with the endless amounts of easy and low-cost (and protein-filled) plant-based recipes there are out there. I hope you will think of your potential plant-based clients and provide options for them in the future.
The good was delicious and the waitress was extremely friendly. When I told her I have a gluten allergy she was very knowledgeable and explained what all on the menu could be made gluten free. Definitely check this place out. If you decide to get a spice level btw medium is pretty dang hot!
My favorite gluten friendly Thai spot. Their massaman curry is delicious, I get it at least once a month, and they're always very attentive to gluten allergies.

August 2023, back at GD. GREAT experience again today. Our server Selma was great. My salmon was perfect and my son loved their breaded cauliflower❤️ my white sangria was fantastic - and finally in a wine glass. ❤️
July 2023 - Loved my experience at GD on Columbia Pike. My salmon was delicious. My sister has major allergies, and they offered an array of gluten Free options. While there was a slight error in her meal, our waitress (Sydney - who was fantastic btw) fixed it right away, and the manager even came out to make sure we were okay! White sangria was delicious - although I would prefer to have wine in an actual wine glass. Loved my experience. Will be back again.🙂
So, I do like this place. It's a local shop and they roast the coffee on site. That's awesome. It stays pretty busy even though there is a Starbucks down the street. You can also order ahead which is convenient, but you still have to park behind the building and go in which takes a little (seriously, a little) more effort than parking at Starbucks. Not their fault.
If you want to go there to work, better get there early. People go there and camp out. They're ordering coffee and being good patrons, but that means there isn't a high turnover rate of tables. I really love all the plants and the big, sunny windows. It feels very warm and it's my favorite place to kill time.
I usually get the matcha latte which is average at best. For some reason they don't have coconut milk and the almond milk feels too thick.
The food there is good and original. I like that it varies and that it's not mass produced (like Starbucks). However, this also means that if you like something, it may not be there next time.
I've only had one thing there that was difficult to finish. I can't even remember what it was other than that it was a ball. If you see it (and it's gluten free) pick anything else. Seriously. Go for the gluten and get their bacon biscuit. It's DELISH!
My only other complaint is that it closes pretty early. I wasn't expecting that. This is not a spot for afternoon coffee or a date-meet-up. All in all, a good spot if you're in Falls Church and definitely worth checking out instead of Starbucks.
Amazing. The chips and salsa are delicious - chips come out warm and fresh. We came to try the virgin piña colada. Lots of gluten free options too. Servers are friendly and quick; our waiter Martin was great.
In all, this place was good and it's a great option if your shopping in Tysons but don't want to eat in one of the mall restuarants. The flavors were all there, the menu has a great mix of items and the gluten free options were great. While.one of out 3 dishes came out barely warm the rest were fine. Thebservice was adequate. We typically like to ask the server what some favorites are on the menu to get their perspective, but this time our server jist listed everything, so wither they were new or just didn't have handle on what we were asking. Overall we'll go back though when we are in the mood for some BBQ.
