Very good self-service burgers. In summer, there are few options for cooling off other than the excellent, supposedly homemade ice tea. My colleagues with intolerances were happy about the gluten-free option.
Fantastic spot with gluten free and veggie/vegan options. I haven’t had a veggie burger since living in Europe because they usually contain wheat, so I was very excited to eat one here. I ended up eating here every day I was in Köln because it was a safe and delicious option.
Very delicious vegan food! You can indulge in vegan indulgence here, and the dishes on offer are different from standard pizzas, etc. They offer a variety of toppings.
Also suitable for people with gluten allergies! The staff was immediately aware of my companion's celiac disease and asked what she could eat and how the dishes were prepared, and they were able to provide helpful advice.
Good selection of vegan and gluten-free dishes that were delicious.
Do I need to make many comments:
- Service was extremely understaffed and overwhelmed: we sat down and couldn't order for 20 minutes. The waitress had told us we'd have to wait a bit, but I still thought 45 minutes was too long. I think they should hire more staff.
- I thought the size of the drinks was quite small for the price.
- They display cakes at the counter, but they're not "ready" to eat for an hour. I still didn't get it after an hour, but that was due to the service.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend it unless you really have a lot of time...
Too good and warm welcome. Plus this restaurant has a large gluten-free menu which is rare. We can enjoy it as a family with my sister who is gluten intolerant.
The pizza was truly delicious; the dough was nice and thin, the crust thick, and the ingredients super fresh. I had a gluten-free pizza—you could tell it was gluten-free, but it still tasted really good. The service was friendly, and the whole experience was simply enjoyable. We'll definitely be back!
Great café for breakfast, lunch or even afternoon coffee. There is also a lavish vegan and vegetarian offering as well as gluten-free cakes.
The service was quick and very friendly and the atmosphere also made you want to linger. We would definitely like to come back.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Gluten-free food is readily available: the gluten-free schnitzel and the gluten-free Kaiserschmarren were delicious! We'll be back.
Very tasty food in a very pleasant atmosphere. The servers are friendly, courteous, and very helpful.
One of the few Asian restaurants where many dishes are also available gluten-free.
I loved my visit to this vegan sushi restaurant! The menu is clear and marks gluten-free options with red dots, making it very easy to choose. The staff is extremely competent, explains possible cross-contamination and deals with allergies very sensitively - I felt completely in good hands.
The food was simply incredibly delicious! The creative variations and fresh ingredients make every dish a taste experience. Even as a person with celiac disease, I was able to enjoy it without worry.
Tip: Since the restaurant is very popular, it is advisable to reserve a table in advance
One of my favorite restaurants in Cologne! The food is delicious and fresh, organic, vegan, and there are even some gluten-free options. You can try absolutely everything on the menu here. The dishes are beautifully presented, and the drinks are delicious, too. The service is super attentive and fun. I always feel at home here. The atmosphere is cozy, and it's a great place to celebrate a birthday.
The best scrambled eggs with tomato, cheese, ham and mushrooms - forever
Great selection of cakes also gluten free
Coffee specialties are awesome and are also offered in oat and soy drinks.
Unfortunately no barrier-free toilet 🚽
We spontaneously went for a walk in Cafe Rhein.
The prices are reasonable and the employees are very nice.
It's a cozy café that isn't too big.
But you are close to the Rhine in Mülheim.
We had a savory crepe and cake. There are different cake variants that also say whether they are vegan/gluten-free.
One of the best cafes in Cologne! Great service, fantastic selection of drinks and food (vegan, gluten-free, etc.)! Simply amazing! Great service and friendly staff :))
As someone with gluten and nut intolerances, I often struggle to find a safe dessert when dining out. Thankfully, this place is brilliant. Harry, in particular, really knows his ingredients and makes sure each dish is prepared carefully. It’s a relief to finally feel confident ordering a sweet treat again!
Kiosk with cakes. Smells like grandma's kitchen. (Butter, pastries, etc.)
If you want to eat grandma's cake, this is the place for you.
Also available for takeaway.
Gluten-free items sell out quickly or are out of stock.

Very tasty tapas. Three or four (depending on which one you choose) are enough to fill you up. Perhaps they should at least expand the dessert menu to include ice cream, to provide a cooling alternative in the summer. And the ambiance could also be improved a bit. But the food was truly delicious, and gluten-free options are also available, which is certainly a plus for many.
I would come again
Olaf is the greatest waiter. The history of the place, the food and all the experience was so Great. We had Gluten Free Food. All was incredible. Came back for lunch the next day.
Great quality!
I visited the restaurant with a friend. Ordering was convenient and easy via iPad. The best part: gluten-free sushi and other delicacies, including soy sauce... We simply ordered everything gluten-free, and it was all delicious. The rice was perfect and not heavy, the fish was extremely fresh, and the seasonings, such as the pickled ginger and wasabi paste, were very tasty and superbly prepared. We enjoyed every sushi roll and were happy that we chose Kaizen. The service was friendly and very accommodating. Everything went quickly, and we were happy. We'll be back!
A fantastic taste experience, 100% recommended. 🙌
We discovered it by chance. :-)
Nice café and they only serve vegan food and drinks. Our dog was very welcome and received a bowl of water.
The drinks tasted very good and the food was very tasty. They also offer gluten-free bagels.
We felt comfortable there and were happy to have found the robin. The service was very friendly.
No cash payment possible. But that wasn't a problem at all.
There is gluten free bread available for a small extra charge which is actually quite tasty.
There are vegan, vegetarian and meat dishes, so there is something for every taste.
We had a lovely meal there and it's going on my personal "gluten free breakfast/brunch options" list. Unfortunately, I cannot say how suitable it is for people with celiac disease regarding Kross contamination etc.
The coffee was also great. It's also a good place to meet up with friends for a little cup of coffee.
I recommend sitting upstairs :)
A hidden pearl in Cologne!
The café is beautiful and cozy with a quiet location on Brussels Square. The furnishings and crockery are a real vintage dream, perfect for switching off.
The cakes all look heavenly and there are vegan and gluten-free options too. We had the vegan rhubarb-marzipan crumble cake, which was served warmed up, and a vegan matcha-lime-coconut tart. I can highly recommend both! I just thought it was a shame that there was an additional charge for plant-based milk alternatives. But it's only a small drawback, as we otherwise felt completely comfortable.
The only ice cream parlor where you can try new ice cream flavors every day. The boss surprised us today with his rose ice cream 🌹. Hot waffle is super delicious, you can put together your own waffle.
The staff is very nice, we only waited about 10 minutes for our order, the place was full.
By the way, all ice cream flavors except tiramisu are gluten-free and the fruit flavors are vegan 🌱
The new equipment is beautiful, very nice music, very good ambience.
We really enjoy traveling from Bonn to Cologne again and 😊 we are excited to see what new ice cream creations we will find there soon 🙃
I ate a bowl, super tasty and filling!! Totally friendly atmosphere, I'll definitely be back. The fact that everything is vegan and there are gluten-free options makes it perfect all around :)
I ate with a friend on the large, beautiful terrace. To my delight, there was gluten-free pasta (unfortunately no gluten-free pizza dough), so I took the chef's pasta. I also ordered some grilled vegetables with it, as I wouldn't have had enough otherwise. But the portion sizes are good. My friend had tortellini with walnuts, which she really enjoyed.
Very friendly staff. 🤩
A bit hidden for me and unfortunately little to no parking! Good for the residents!
Perfect ending after visiting the sports museum. From the service to the kitchen and the ambience, everything is top. Huge pizza, for gluten allergy sufferers with the Zoodels dishes. Our waitress Feyyaz was very accommodating and nice.
We'll definitely be back.
Very tasty food and very attentive service. When I was told about my wheat allergy, I was given gluten-free soy sauce 😊

My mother and I were staying in a hotel around the corner and actually wanted to try to reserve a table for breakfast the following day.
We felt comfortable and stayed there for dinner. Colorful daily menu with delicious dishes, special requests (vegan, gluten-free) are gladly fulfilled, the food is delicious and the price is right. That's why we went there again for breakfast :) The hummus was really tasty and I haven't had such a good caffeine-free coffee with oat milk in a long time. Thanks for that!
Overall, Café Schmitz is a relaxed neighborhood coffee shop with a feel-good atmosphere - inside and out. I will definitely come back here on my next trip to Cologne. And if it's just for a delicious coffee ;)
