Stopped for brunch during a short trip to Leeds for an amazing Mika gig. Fantastic services and brilliant food. Our server Lucy was lovely and Bills is great on gluten free options... even dowb to decanting condiments to be sure of no cross contamination. Would definitely recommend.. and outside seating is a perfect place to soak up Leodensian atmosphere.
Amazing to get a vegan and gluten-free burger! Tasted great! And the vegan cheese sauce with the tater tots! 🤤 Brad and the other staff were incredible knowledgeable and confident with their allergen information, which was really reassuring for a vegan and coeliac combo.
They're adding vegan and gluten-free desserts and shakes to the menu in a few weeks, so we're gonna go back soon. 👀
We had the most amazing meal here, I’m gluten free and it’s the best pizza I’ve ever had as a coeliac! The service was fantastic, thank you Dan and Marcus and the whole team 😃
We love that this place does gluten free and vegan menus! With absolutely loads of options! Not just one or two things! The decor and atmosphere is so nice. And the staff are very accommodating and lovely 😍
Been here tonight with my girlfriend’s family and all the food was amazing and did especially well for someone who came tonight who had a gluten allergy. All the food come out hot with smiling members of staff with every dish which came. Highly recommended.
Dead good gluten free menu. Service is lovely and easy with the clips for drinks and when you’re ready to order. Food was lush, loved the loaded duck fries and seaweed
Held a private function in the newly extended room and it was perfect for the size of the group (25). Rob the owner was really helpful in setting the room up just as we wanted it, nothing was too much trouble and the catering was fantastic and accommodated some of the group who wanted gluten free food. Wheelchair accessible.
We came here for bottomless brunch. The food and drinks were really nice and the service was great. They came round really frequently so we got our moneys worth.
A member of our party was gluten free and they were able to modify a number of the items on the menu to accommodate.
The perfect start to the day.
I had the Blueberry cheesecake Fluffy American Pancakes and my partner ordered the Gluten Free Residence full English, with sausage and black pudding!!
Outstanding service, the team were amazing with gluten free options and met our needs! We can't thank you enough! See you again very soon.
Kind regards
The Nowakowski Family 😊
First visit here this evening. Asked for a quiet table was put in a lovely wee side room . Not only was there a range of gluten free food that they specifically asked if it was for an intolerance or allergy, they were happy to customise other dishes as all made fresh. Food was amazing. Friendly helpful staff too. Only issue was we couldn't use the normally spacious car park was closed for an event and weren't aware but were able to park at a retail centre 5 mins walk away so no big disaster
As a coeliac, I would recommend to all my friends with dietary requirements. So nice to see a restaurant that doesn't have only salads and brownies as their gluten free options.
Great food, as always. I tried a new dish from their new menu. All the greens on toast made for a delicious breakfast - it had a really nice creamy butterbean base, a subtle kick of citrus tang, perfect amount of saltiness from the feta, crunch from the seeds, with a good hearty amount of veg and I loved that crispy kale! Love that they have so many gluten-free options on the menu. A 5/5 and will be back for more! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We dropped in here during a weekend in Leeds! The food was amazing! And they had so many gluten free options, which were made separately! Really kind and helpful staff too, would definitely recommend!
The food came out fresh and lovely and hot.
The restaurant was nice and clean at the time of our visit.
My husband is Coeliac and the staff were aware of this when taking our order. He was well catered for with the Gluten Free pizza.
We took two young children (normally a bit picky). They are almost everything.
We always get a great meal at Pizza express. We probably eat more regularly there due to the GF vegetarian options because one of us is coeliac and PE takes allergens seriously. He gets a delicious meal that won't hurt later!
It is expensive now and the gold membership makes a big difference to the bill -£16 this time, which puts it more in line with the place next door. That may be a great option for others but does not do GF.
Service is friendly and helpful, too.
Came here on our way to an event in Leeds after bigging up Hickory's to my two friends. I couldn't believe the difference compared to the others we have visited. Atmosphere was non-existent, service was shocking and awkward and the food left me really ill and resulted in me being off work today.
We were seated outside, and placed a drinks order which took about 20 minutes to arrive (there was only 3 of us...). 4-5 members of staff were milling around the till area constantly but no one came to take our order. One member of staff was even stood talking absolute rubbish to the table next to us, when there are other tables that need serving.
My gluten free burger arrived and the presentation compared to usual wasn't great, with the fries thrown on the wooden tray instead of a mug. My friends ordered the sharing platter and for the price was disgusting. No individual plates were offered, so they were left trying to eat off the packed wooden board it came on. Their fries came incorrect and the cups they came in were half stuffed with paper. Scrimping on a very expensive £65 platter was absolutely vile. We were literally robbed.
There were also ants on the table and vacated tables left messy - even though as aforementioned, staff loitering by the till and not actually working.
Unsure if I'll be back to any Hickory's after this experience. Just awful.
Great pub. Always a pleasant atmosphere. Often come in for a drink and it’s always a nice place to sit and chat. Went over Christmas for food too which was excellent. The staff were able to make several dishes gluten free for one member of our party.
One of my favourite places in Leeds. Hoping they keep the pub when they develop the building in future years
We were greeted and sat down quickly by a friendly waitress but then didn't return to take our orders and kinda just forgot about us even though the restaurant was really quiet when we arrived and we were sat close to the main entrance. I was about to leave the table to ask if someone could take our orders before thankfully another waitress noticed us waiting and came over. She then had to scold the other waitress and tell her to start taking orders for other customers who were still waiting. A couple who arrived after us were waiting about 15 minutes, before they got up and left frustrated because no one came. I don't think they even noticed that they'd left. No one really seems to be actively looking to see if anyone needs anything, and were often just chatting at the bar.
We ordered the same starter, but one was required to be gluten free which wasn't an issue at all, however when they arrived they didn't specify which one was gluten free so we were a bit anxious about that. The sake was great, but we got the bento boxes for the main which were kinda just okay, not worth how expensive they are in my opinion. I've been here a few times before and the food has been great but I left feeling a little bit disappointed this time.

Had one of the best gluten-free beers (Virtuous by Kirkstall Brewery) in this pub. AFAIK this is the oldest pub in Leeds. Loved the atmosphere even though it was a Monday evening. Might go back to try the other gluten-free beer on the menu!
I ordered a gluten-free wrap that was listed on the menu. I was not informed that it would be made in gluten-free bread instead of a wrap. Instead of apologising or offering an alternative, the server asked, "Is that okay?". We were recommended this place, so it was an unfortunate first experience.
Such a great lunch here. The BEST chai latte I have had in a while, thanks so much Belle! A beautiful breakfast sandwich cooked to perfect, thanks for this Sen! Coeliac friendly cafe!
I've visited twice in the last few weeks and cannot fault the place. Plenty of meat, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available. I've had the homemade warm banana bread (which is delicious), the residence granola and the residence avocado on toast - ALL very tasty! Staff have always been very friendly and I've managed to get seated with my dog both times. Making this my local breakfast spot from now on.
Been here multiple times, never disappointed. Service is always amazing, very tentative and quick with serving. Food I always spot on, it’s my go to spot for breakfast. Also small point, but I’m a big fan of the decor. Extra points for gluten free options.
The carbonara was probably one of the worst I’ve had in a while, the sauce ruined it and the pasta pieces were too big to even have a full bite of, pasta was served in a pan. My partner had a gluten free pizza which was actually very nice but I myself did not enjoy my food.
The service was amazing, loved the staff members but the atmosphere just felt too crowded, didn’t feel like a nice place to sit down as we were all cramped up in this upstairs area and it was too loud to even hear anything.
Very pleased to have discovered this restaurant. Very authentic Indian food. I could not find fault with the food. The staff are very polite and friendly, very willing to explain the menu and help with any requirements. There is a very good Gluten free selection. It has a nice ambience and is a pleasant place to be. I would definitely visit here again and would highly recommend a visit.
Visited for the first time last night, and loved every minute.
The service was great, the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly.
My partner has a gluten intolerance and they offer a gluten free menu if you ask for it. It would be nice if they offered more options and if the allergens could be clearly marked on the main menu, but I understand why that could be difficult to guarantee.
The food overall was delicious and I want to try every item on the menu! I especially enjoyed the tofu salad.
The atmosphere inside is lovely and I can't wait to come back.
I thought the food was AMAZING I also liked how they had gluten free buns for the burgers and the atmosphere was great would recommend 10 out of 10

A brilliant local taproom.
Foundation is a fantastic addition to Adel
The selection of Meanwood Brewery’s beers is top quality, with a great mix of rotating cask and keg options. They’ve also got a well-stocked fridge with plenty of choice, including gluten-free and low-alcohol options.
It’s a great spot for a quiet drink, with a lovely atmosphere and friendly, knowledgeable staff. The snacks are a nice touch too - perfect with a pint.
Whether you’re local or passing through, it’s well worth a visit.
We really enjoyed the munch special - tasty home cooked food and great to be able to try so many different items on one platter. Everything is vegetarian and most items are gluten free. The filter coffee is also delicious, and the staff very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be coming here again!
Lovely place. We were a large group and were very well looked after. Excellent food (big fan of the fritters), and they catered well for coeliacs. Great vibe in there, and the staff were super friendly.
