This pizza parlor has a fun atmosphere with arcade games and a rustic interior.
I am gluten intolerant, and the GF pizza crust was OK. The toppings were delicious. The pizza is made in a common kitchen, so cross contamination was an issue. Those who aren't GF loved it! They had cheesy garlic bread as well as pizza. We had to wait over 40 minutes for our pizzas, which I thought was a long time on a weeknight.
If you're in Columbia then you should stop to eat at Shakespeare pizza. I do once a year at least. 3 locations but my favorite is the south and off campus. I had a gluten free crust. Very good.
Culver's frozen custard is absolutely divine! I was worried about my blood sugar spiking since they don't have sugar-free options, but my blood sugar stayed steady. Another plus is they have gluten-free buns for sandwiches. The service is friendly, but not very fast, hence 4 stars instead of 5.
My daughter was in Columbia for a soccer trip. Her original stop was at Shakespeare Pizza. My daughter has celiac disease. Shakespeare pizza was not willing to wipe their counters off to make a clean pizza, for her. They let her know that they don't have time to accommodate her. Her and my husband headed over to Pizza tree. They couldn't have been more accommodating and she said the gluten free pizza was absolutely delicious! And she was symptom free! Highly recommend!
I love Toasty Goat! I came in yesterday and was immediately amazed by the positive and loving atmosphere! The baristas greeted the customers by name. It was very cozy and comfortable with plenty of seating. I loved the gluten free brownie. The menu had plenty of variety! Such a wonderful coffee shop! Highly recommend to anyone!
It's really hard to eat out when you have Celiac Disease but this place has a dedicated gluten-free waffle maker and they are cautious about cross-contamination.
The food was amazing and the customer service was above and beyond!
My new favorite place!
We had a private dinner in the back room for a work event with about 25 people, many from out of the state. Billy was fabulous to work with while planning the event and Caitlin our waitress was fantastic. I would highly recommend Room 38 to anyone who needs a casual and fun space to get together. Food was great and drinks even better! I have celiacs, so I am unable to eat gluten, and the staff answered all of my questions and I felt very safe eating here. I will be back next time I visit Columbia for sure!
This place is amazing. True Italian. Made to order. Cream sauce was amazing. They have a great little store with true Italian ingredients. You must stop and give them a try. Gluten Free option at no extra charge.
This is personally my favorite go-to COMO dining spot. They have some knockout bbq, as well as some fantastic signature cocktails! They have the most expansive bbq menu I have ever seen, with options for everyone! (vegan and gluten free) If you are visiting COMO you HAVE to make a stop at this beautiful establishment!
This is currently my favorite restaurant in Columbia. The food is delicious, and the people are so friendly and helpful. There are lots of vegetarian options and dishes made with rice or rice noodles for folks who need to avoid gluten. The ingredients are fresh and of good quality, and the food is well-packaged (doesn’t leak, and they don’t package in styrofoam anymore, so even very hot food doesn’t melt it). I really can’t say enough good things about this place. PS The tofu soup is one of the most amazingly delicious soups I’ve ever had.
The food is usually good, but don’t go if you’re on a schedule. It took 25 minutes for two burgers and fries to come out, and one burger had to be remade because the gluten free bread got forgotten.
