Gluten free options NOT gluten free!
Most items on the menu marked as ‘gluten free option’ are actually fried in the same fryer and oil as gluten containing ingredients (e.g. sweet potato wedges, salt & pepper squid, arancini…)
Whilst they may have been gluten free prior to being cooked, they definitely aren’t when served to you. Be careful anyone with an intolerance or Coeliac.
Non-alcoholic yuzu sake cocktail was delicious though!
First time I went they had no gluten free buns and got told the low carb glutwn friendly bun was also gluten free, but I guess that doesn't matter because the second time gluten free meant nothing because blood tests show there's trace amounts of gluten in my system, I don't eat anything with gluten, so its obviously getting contaminated. Which absolutely sucks because grill'd was the only place with actual "gluten free" -so I thought. Have an allergy? Yeah you can never go out.
My favourite Sushi train. The kitchen staff is super nice, we ask them to prepare gluten free sushi for our kid and they are happy to wash the chopping boards, change gloves, check all ingredients etc. They seem very careful, and when unsure they ask us, despite having a full, very busy restaurant.
I double checked that my meal would be prepared gluten free and the staff even wrote a note to ensure it would be, however it definitely was not as I became sick a few hours afterwards and have been severely sick for almost a week now. I wish they would have taken it more seriously as I am extremely intolerant and get very ill for weeks after ingesting gluten. Really disappointed as I’ve always enjoyed coming here but I don’t trust the food anymore.
Banquet was pretty good. Missed taking pics of the dessert. With smaller numbers they do better from a service and food point of view. Amazing ability to cater for dietary situations. Ie gluten free.still a favourite restaurant
