Safe for the Gluten Free community!! Fries and chili are gluten free! And they have gluten free hot dog and burger buns:) they also take precautions against cross contamination. Safe safe safe :)
Atmosphere is fine.
The food was horrible. I got the burger on the worst gluten free “bun” I’ve ever tasted. The burger was dry, even though I ordered it medium, and had zero flavor. The french fries were bland and lacked seasoning. Also the burger and fries were a la carte. This wouldn’t be terrible if the food was good, but for what I got I am not happy. It was also all lukewarm and took forever to come. The place was not busy. The only thing I enjoyed was the chagachino. But not enough for me to go back.
In celebration of Black Restaurants Week here in LA, I decided to check out Swift Cafe. Swift Cafe did not disappoint. Having checked out the menu beforehand, the one thing I knew that I was going to order was the Tiramisu smoothie. They have dishes I've never heard of or seen anywhere else (e.g. beet dumplings). It was breakfast time so I ordered the sweet potato hash. OMG...the flavors! It's one of the most affordable menu items and certainly one of the most delicious.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the stellar service. The gentleman at the counter was super friendly, chill, and accomodating. My friend who was with me is gluten-free and he was able to make spot-on recommendations for her.
Note: During COVID time they're not serving the full menu. But their current offerings are delicious, nutritious. It was well worth the trip. Can't wait to return and try those beet dumplings.
Outside but covered restaurant. Very intimate setting. Beautifully lit. Great staff. Very busy in the evening. Valet parking available. The food was exquisite and each dish had its own unique flavor profile. Ordering many items from the menu is your best option (family style). Lots of variety. Very limited vegan options- radicchio salad & sprouted cauliflower. I was here with my family so wasn’t expecting too much given my dietary restrictions. They really enjoyed their food. The duck confit stood out the most as it was moist, succulent, full of flavor, not too heavy, & fell right off the bone. Every single item was thoroughly pleasing to my family & they had many great things to say about their dining experience. They did have an option that could be made vegetarian (some pasta), however, the vegan options were very slim and wish they would’ve had at least one main dish that could be vegan & gluten free. Place is really cool though. I’d highly recommend anyone who is a foodie and appreciates one of a kind cuisine to support Cento.
