If you are GF, this is the place; everything is gluten-free. We happened upon the summer menu filled with fresh ingredients. Highly recommend the cheddar biscuits, the beet appetizer, the braised short ribs, finished with the chocolate torte. Unique selection of cocktails, and the wine menu is extensive. My glass of Malbec was very good. Service was attentive, personable, yet not always in your space. Highly recommend!

Stopped in here hoping to see some gluten free options and was surprised to find not only biscuits, but full brioche loaves! They also had THE only oatmeal cream pie I've had in over 15 years of being gluten free. Amazing!

So good, I went there twice in the three days I visited Asheville. Walking in you immediately notice the mouth watering (to me) wood smoke scent. If, like some people I know, you dislike smoke, this Japanese smokehouse is not for you.
I sat at the bar and went early. Service was attentive, and they remembered me and welcomed me back on my second visit.
I tried the navy strength G&T, very tasty. Maybe more than the "Barking up the right tree", at least to me. Maybe I was feeling bitter that day?
The trout was just perfect. Grilled fillets on skewers. Moist, medium rare, so tasty. Not a huge portion, but it was good for me by myself.
Baby back ribs were bone in, with yakitori sauce and scallions. Sweet and savory, moist and perfectly done. The were six ribs which I couldn't finish myself.
Marinated Beet salad was yummy - golden beets not red made the next day less scary. If you've eaten a lot of red beets, you know what I mean.
Grilled mushrooms were really tasty, but a pretty small portion.
Broccoli rabe was kinda fibrous, and the bacon topping was not crispy and kinda hard to eat with it. Maybe reconsider this one in the menu.
Finally, the coconut cake by Chef Mom was so good. Butter cream frosting. Coconut ice cream on the side. The lady with celiac sitting next to me was green with envy. I felt a little bad.

Curate is one of the better dining experiences we have had in Asheville. I took a friend there for her birthday and it was a most pleasant experience. The interior of the restaurant is expansive with several different rooms, yet it feels intimate. I was happy to notice that there were several tables for larger parties - after all, small plates are more fun when you share! We chose 3 different small plates and two large plates. The mushrooms and pork were our favorites but all food is carefully prepared and food is high quality. Wine list is on the pricy side. I am medically gluten free and there were several options that were available, and our server pointed out options that could also be made gluten free. For dessert we received a gorgeous custom made cake on a pedestal - it was small (about 3 inches in diameter) but was extremely rich and was ample for the two of us. Would definitely to return to sample different dishes! Tip - go early - it gets crowded quickly. When we left there was an hour wait. Reservations a must.
Expect a cozy atmosphere with top-tier service and a great culinary journey that leaves you fully satisfied.

Clean and tasty, except the duck noodle soup is not served with scallion as advertised, and it uses the same broth that cooks the dumplings. Not gluten free. Four slices of duck in a bowl half filled with noodles, bok choy, and broth.
