As a celiac this is the place to go. I had a severe nearly super man dive over the counter and snatch a chip from me when an order got switched and there was even the chance I could have been cross contaminated.
The staff is wonderful and always on point.
The food is fantastic - get the GF breaded fish tacos.. I am telling you they are excellent.
The drinks are mixed with care and a bit of sass.
One of my favorite places in town.
Waffle Wonderland at Sweet As Waffles!
If Willy Wonka ran a waffle shop, it would definitely be Sweet As Waffles. This place is a sugar-sprinkled dreamland where every waffle comes with a surprise — not just in flavor, but also a tiny toy dino tucked inside like a prehistoric prize. Yes, you read that right: waffles + dinosaurs = instant serotonin.
Their menu? Pure brilliance. Whether you’re in the mood for a sweet classic dripping in strawberries and whipped cream, or a savory stunner stacked with cheese, eggs, and bacon, they’ve got your cravings covered. Bonus: they even cater to our gluten-free friends with crispy, golden GF waffles that are just as magical.
A waffle shop that serves delicious food and gives you a toy with your meal? Sweet As Waffles isn’t just a treat — it’s a whole experience. 10/10 would eat again (and adopt another waffle dino).
My friend and I ate lunch here on July 8. We only saw one person working the front counter and she was not very friendly. When I asked if I could have whole wheat for my pita bread choice, she acted frustrated with me and said, “I have the mixed kind…whole wheat and plain, is that okay?” I said it wasn’t because I had some gluten issues. I shouldn’t have to explain myself to a restaurant worker. I then asked if I could have gluten free. She said, “Yes.” I have issues also with dairy. True story. So I asked for, “No cheese.” She asked me a personal question, “Are you lactose intolerant? What symptoms do you have?” I said it gave me headaches.” She said, “Interesting.” That was not her business to pry like that. This young person needs to learn some simple manners in how to relate to people, especially an older person like me.
Also, the food turned out to be pretty bad. I got the BLT pita and the whole thing tasted “off”. Poor flavor and the bacon was over cooked.
The whole restaurant was dirty…tables were not wiped down. My friend and I found old, dried food on our table. The floor needed sweeping and mopping. It just appeared like no one cared.
Once I got home I washed my hands and arms really well with hot soap and water because who knows what kind of germs I could have picked up there.
There was a customer who came in and waited to be helped. She asked my friend and me, “Is anyone working here?” I told her there was a young woman who had waited on us and it appeared she was in the back of the restaurant somewhere. I suggested to the waiting customer to “phone” the restaurant to grab the woman’s attention. The customer waited for maybe 10 minutes, even rattled her keys to make noise. No one came out to help her. She finally walked out pretty disgusted. Way to go, Pita Pit. You lost a customer and a sale.
I know for sure I’ll never come back here to eat. I felt unsafe, the place was unclean and dirty, and the employee was rude and didn’t seem to care about the customers. Not good at all.
I don’t usually post bad reviews, but this experience was so unacceptable and so bad, I had to say something just for the sake of the greater good.
Been a very long time, however the eggs Benedict were always the best! Service exceptional. Can get espresso, lattes etc as they are cooperative with a coffee shop. Never had a bad breakfast. We are gluten free, celiacs. They are very accommodating.
Absolutely divine experience! They have a rotating menu. They have lots of gluten and dairy free options (dessert too). They have yummy cocktails and some delicious mocktails as well! Highly recommend going here for a ladies night or date night. They can ben quiet during the week. Great service
A great spot to take your parents when they are visiting in town. A menu that offers many classic American restaurant fare options. Includes a nice list of cocktails and the beers of boundary of course. They have included a gluten free and non alcoholic beer from other local places.
Wonderful outdoor space downstairs where you can lounge and relax while your children run around a bit.
Went here for the first time and the food was fabulous, not sure if it’s close to what Cajun food is actually like but it was so flavorful and delicious! Well seasoned! Our waitress was amazing and constantly checked on us! I got the fried green tomatoes and the pork chops and it was all so delicious. My pork chop wasn’t dry at all. Brussels sprouts were beautifully seasoned! They are on the spending side but I don’t mind was worth it. I highly recommend this place! Well decorated place, lighting fits the atmosphere really well! They did have gluten free options as well!
I often am searching for new places to try. I am gluten free and I am always in search of food that I don't make well at home. Most places offer the same thing, but this place has dishes that are very simply to turn gluten free, where most restaurants just don't. The food was delicious, and the cocktails were hand crafted. Nice atmophere, with a view of their distillery. We will definatley be going back.
Very reasonably priced.
Definitely worth going here! Staff was extra helpful and friendly, atmosphere was very cool. Food was yummy. Would recommend the blueberry lemonade. They make it with fresh lemons and blueberries. It is sour but you can ask them to make it sweet, if you prefer sweet. Gluten free options are a plenty. Some outdoor seating, but mostly indoor.
came for Valentine’s day dinner, SO good and such good service! Kyle our waiter was so friendly, helpful and overall just such a good waiter! Definitely coming back and SUCH great gluten free options, gf gyros and so much more!
Best Chinese food ever. Try everything. I have been looking for the best hot and sour soup, and it is here. One of my friends has a rather extensive repitoire of allergies and she can eat here, they have a gluten free menu on request. Spicy, seafood, vegetarian, bed, chicken is all awesome. The hostess is really cool, she is friendly when there is time but she seems to be the only server so when it is busy she takes care of everyone. My favorite restaurant in Bellingham.
Caffe Adagio is my absolute favorite coffee shop in Bellingham!
The folks who work there are so friendly and fun to chat with, seeing them brightens up my day :-)
Their soups are truly some of the best I’ve ever had and are made with fresh ingredients from their family farm. The garden breakfast sandwich is also incredible! They have some gluten free pastry options, too.
Prices are very reasonable and there is plenty of seating if you get there before or after the rush. It’s a great place to get work done, meet with friends, or just go on your own :-)
I ordered four hard tacos and a street taco, all with shredded beef. I also got a happy hour margarita. The food was fantastic, the drink was good, the service was great and it was a fun place to hang out.
If you're in Bellingham and want good Mexican food, drinks and fun, this is the place to be!
The prices were reasonable, ($3 street tacos, $4 regular tacos, $4 Margaritas, ) and it was all fantastic. They even substituted corn tortillas for my gluten-free companion's quesadilla.
This is your place.
Additional: on my third visit, three weeks later, they took fantastic care of me, and replicated my companion's order from memory, which included the addition of cilantro, which I'd forgotten. This is definitely a place to visit.
