beautiful place and very courteous staff helpful and kind excellent and fast service exceptional gluten-free pizza made by them not frozen the best I have ever eaten first choice ingredients everything of truly top quality even the normal pizza truly excellent. we will definitely return. highly recommended place
I was a little skeptical but it turned out to be an excellent pizzeria, soft and well-leavened dough, good choice of beers; with us there was a CELIAC and he ate one of the best gluten-free pizzas, compliments. Highly recommended.
I have been there several times with my husband. The food is excellent. The gluten-free pizza is delicious, the best I have ever tasted... the place is a bit dark but the food is excellent and the guys are very kind and smiling ☺️ I highly recommend it!!
Last week I was on vacation in Reggio again. I returned to this place to find out that the management has changed and they no longer offer gluten-free arancini.
A big disappointment and a negative note!!!
Obviously, being celiac, I couldn't eat anything.
The Royal Reef, located in Reggio Calabria at the Circolo Velico, is a culinary experience that combines elegance, authentic flavors and a spectacular view of the Strait of Messina. The location is enchanting: dining with the sea just a few steps away and the scenery of the sunset reflecting on the water makes every moment unique and unforgettable.
The menu offers a curated selection of traditional Mediterranean dishes, with a strong emphasis on fresh fish and local ingredients. Don't miss the raw seafood, which stands out for its quality and freshness, and dishes such as tagliolini with sea urchins and 'nduja or bergamot risotto. I personally consumed a risotto with cuttlefish caciocavallo and a sprinkling of chocolate. It was MAGNIFICENT. I have never tried such a good risotto... each course is an explosion of flavours, presented with great attention to detail.
The service is impeccable: the staff is courteous, professional and always available to recommend the best wine and dish pairings. Another plus point is the attention to those with special dietary needs, such as gluten-free options, a sign of great care for the customer.
Prices vary, but the quality-price ratio is more than justified by the quality of the raw materials and the overall experience. It is the ideal place for a romantic dinner, a special evening or simply to indulge in a moment of gastronomic pleasure in a refined setting.
In conclusion, the Royal Reef is a true pearl of Reggio Calabria, where cuisine meets the beauty of the sea. An experience that certainly deserves to be lived. Highly recommended!
I returned after many years away from Reggio, always delicious! The staff was very kind and friendly, helpful and friendly. Fast service and very attentive to allergies or intolerances, as at my table there was a lactose-free and a gluten-free. I will definitely return and with pleasure🫶🏽
Excellent refreshment point.
Here you can also find a vast gluten-free choice, starting from the starter.
The super friendly and attentive staff, especially the waiter Nikola (I recommend with a k 🤣🤣), very nice, friendly and dynamic.
This place is perfectly located in the middle of the city centre. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. You can try some of the best food in town with small bites, veggie, meat and Calabrian typical options. All is 100% gluten free. Great selection of wines too. I will definitely come back.

Last night we went to the new place to eat a pizza and since there was a celiac person in the group we asked to confirm if a gluten-free pizza was possible. On the phone we were told that they don't know, to call back in 5 minutes (and this in itself must have sounded strange to us). After 5 minutes they confirm the gluten free pizza and we head to the restaurant.
The place appears well-kept and tidy in detail, we sit down and from there the problems begin. without going into details, very long and delayed service, the pizzas and appetizers arrived in fits and starts. Among other things, out of 7 pizzas ordered, 1 of which was gluten-free, 4 were wrong: the stretched one arrived classic, the red gluten-free one arrived white, walnuts were added to taste in another, another was classic and instead it arrived ironed.
Really bad service, we arrived at 9pm, we left when the place closed due to the slowness.
The normal flavored pizzas were very good, the ingredients of good quality and tasty.
As far as gluten-free is concerned, I find it really embarrassing to advertise a quality that on various occasions has not proven to be there: years ago we went to the place near the stadium and we were told that the dough had had problems, another time the problem was the oven, this time however was a pre-cooked base.
I'm still anxiously waiting for this gluten-free blonde to amaze us.
My family and I came here for our first night in Reggio and had a terrific night.
The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. They rearranged half the outdoor dining room to fit our party of 10.
We had a mix of dietary requirements (vego, vegan, and coeliac) and we all managed to find something to suit.
The pizza was phenomenal. I got the Delight of the woods pizza and could not fault it.
I also got the tiramisu for dessert - which they make in front of you at your table and it was entertaining and delicious
I very much recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious pizza
It's one of the best burgers I've ever tried. The meat is super good, but what I appreciated the most is the choice of different types of bread.. Normal, wholemeal, for celiacs
