Beware, if you’re ordering off the gluten free menu DO NOT order the chip cob listed as “gluten free”. The cob isn’t gluten free!! The server let us order a chip cob on the gluten free side after we explicitly said the order was for gluten free fish and chips. Then they asked to package it separately because it contains gluten (??). Then got confused when my coeliac partner was confused why it had gluten in.
We had visited from Nottingham and were very lucky to find this place around the corner from the theatre. We had the Vegan Thali feast and every mouthful was sublime. Every mouthful. Shiva reassured me on the gluten free standards and was able to offer gluten free beer too. Lovely decor, friendly service and fab food. We'll be back.
My partner booked here so that we could try somewhere different, as we had heard they had a good gluten free menu. We were not disappointed! Gluten free pasta and pizza... the chef even made us a gluten free garlic pizza bread.
Food was lovely and plenty of it!
We had gorgeous proper cocktails as well (2 for 1). Bargain!
But to top it all off was the service. The staff couldn't do more to make to feel welcome. Cameron was an absolute ray of smiley sunshine and made us feel so welcome.
We will definitely be back.
Good food, and lovely service from Loredana. Quick and efficient but never felt rushed. One of our party is gluten free and handled really well with big portions. Thankyou all for a lovely meal
We love this place, nice atmosphere, professional service and they a good gluten free options. We have a gluten free breakfast which was amazing. I highly recommend this chilled out venue.
Arrived on spec on a quiet mid week lunch time. New person was unable to seat us despite being extremely quiet. Tried to order off the promotion £10 menu but no gluten free options. Was given a QR code to enter email details before being able to see what was GF.
Decided to leave as it was just too difficult despite asking for help.
Always found BP to be a good option for GF but not this time poor customer service and welcome.
People with special dietary needs based on medical requirements should be given option on promotion deals too.
Popped in for lunch and was very happy we did.
All the food was delicious, great portion size. The menu is slightly limited in the number of items but what there is is varied. (Classic pub food). What is and isn’t, or could be made gluten free is slightly unclear on the menu (Saw more acronyms than were in the key, GF, GFA, GFR?) but when we asked the waitress she checked very quickly for us.
There were only three tables in when we visited( including us) so the one waitress was able to handle working the bar as well whilst keeping up good table service. Therefore I can’t comment on how service goes during busy times.
Overall we really enjoyed our lunch and I’m sure we will be back.
Really lovely restaurant, with a sparkling atmosphere. The food was delicious with an extensive gluten free menu. All the gluten free dishes were very nice and the variety was great.
Would definitely eat here again. It’s so great to see a gluten free menu displayed outside alongside the other menus.
The staff are absolutely amazing, so sweet and kind. The food is perfect and extremely reasonably priced, definitely worth it. I had high expectations and they passed those expectations before we'd even sat down to eat! If you want an experience you won't forget, this is the place to go. Will definitely be going here again for the rice bowl with pulled beef. The beef was so juicy and melted in my mouth so I definitely recommend getting the pulled beef as your meat. They also had a variety of options for those who are vegan/vegetarian and even gluten free! Great accomodation, amazing atmosphere and an unforgettable evening. Thankyou to those who served us and made us feel like family.
Me and 4 friends came for lunch and cocktails. I’d been once before but precovid. We had gorgeous food, delicious cocktails and the waitresses were very attentive. 2 of my friends are coeliac and we were all impressed with the amount of choices for them and the special attention they were given having the manager specifically take their order to ensure everything was safe for them. Can’t wait to come again 🙂
We have visited Fattoush before but this was the first time we came with our children (15 & 11). My son has a gluten allergy and the staff were so accommodating to his needs. Both he and my daughter loved the food and said they’d love to come again…as will we.
I wish I could rate the service higher than 5/5. I visited for my first time last week and I was genuinely blown away by the exceptional level of service that I received! I have celiac disease (severe gluten allergy) so I called ahead and spoke with a server and the chef to clarify cross contamination procedures and how everything works. I then had an email from Scott detailing all the steps they would take for my visit, down to training of the staff, ensuring there were allergen menus ready for me etc. This is the BEST celiac friendly experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant.
The food was amazing, I had the carbonara pizza - I’ve never tried white sauce before but I would definitely recommend it! The cocktails were fun and unique as well (I had the loveheart cocktail and it even came with the sweets on top!).
I could not recommend this place more. Thank you to everyone who made it so special! I’ll be sure to visit again soon.
First time visiting this place and really enjoyed it. I am gluten and dairy free and they didn't make a deal of it, good available was varied and the customer service was bang on. Ill deffo be back. Thank you for a lovely afternoon
Displeased that I was charge +£2.50 extra for each gluten-free option. Which was not freshly made and no one raised that there will be additional charge. Very disappointed.
Lovely meal with friends, we were served by Angelika who was amazing! Patient, attentive and sweet, couldn’t have asked for a better server! Food was tasty and hot, with a good gluten free choice, good time all round!
This pub is fantastic. The food is gorgeous. I have to have gluten-free meals and they always have something I can eat.
The people who work there are always very nice and helpful. It's just a lovely place to go.
The best place for Indian food in Leicester…just ask Rick Stein! I've been coming to Bobby's for over 20 years, and each time the quality and service remain exceptional. It was fantastic to see this recognition in Rick Stein's Food Stories. The food is always freshly prepared, and the chai is absolutely delicious. The flavours are rich and complex, with a spice level that can be tailored to your liking—perfect for me, as I'm not great with spice!
What truly sets Bobby’s apart, though, is the outstanding service. The staff, managers, and owners go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, often greeting you personally at your table with recommendations and eagerly seeking feedback. I frequently bring friends and family here, and they’re always impressed, especially since they never miss the lack of meat on the menu. They offer plenty of vegan and gluten-free dishes and cater to all!
As an Indian, I’m very particular about where I enjoy Indian food—nothing compares to home-cooked meals. But Bobby’s has become a true comfort spot for me. The food is always warming, homely, and satisfying. With a menu featuring Gujarati classics and inventive Indo-Chinese twists, I always look forward to my personal favourites: aubergine stir-fry, papdi chaat and crispy bhajia! Their Indian inspired afternoon tea is exceptional, with plenty of sweet and savoury options and drinks choices - it’s a lovely treat for a celebration!
I’ve recommended Bobby’s to countless friends, and I’ll continue to do so without hesitation.
Today was my first visit with a friend who loves eating here.
I was surprised how many people were waiting for it to open on a Monday lunchtime!
We were greeted in a friendly manner, we were asked if there was any allergies, it’s lovely to be asked that rather than me having to state I’m gluten free. I was advised the menu lists the allergens, I was also given the allergen guide, they have GF pasta and pizza bases.
The lady serving us was very clued up on what was safe, I also asked to remove garlic from my dishes and it was great how easy this request was!
The food arrived quickly, it was all hot and so tasty, I’ll definitely be back here again!
We had dessert, I was advised straight away what is GF and 1 that needed slightly changing to make it safe.
Overall a fab restaurant with friendly and polite staff! Also really good value for money! Thank you
Ordered gluten-free bbq chicken meal came with a jacket potato. The jacket potato was cold, I was offered a new potato that came just as I was finishing the rest of my meal. Due to staying in the hotel next door, I had to have breakfast here as the hotel didn't do it. I was brought out half frozen bread, the buffet was very empty and was lukewarm. This was on the first day on the second, which was worse due to it only being open half an hour again it was lukewarm and hashbrowns that were freezing cold. I can only hope that they can take not to the reviews and build on it.
I went here specifically for the gluten free options that said it specifically on your website yet when I arrived they told me that they don’t do it anymore as they have changed ownership. If that’s the case then maybe change your menu as it is false advertising. Never coming again.
Super friendly staff and extremely attentive. I am vegan and gluten free and had a lovely service and food. The best we have had! Would recommend highly, thinking about hosting my hen do here
Don't be fooled by the smart exterior & indoor decor that's the only good thing.
The food was vile, the service was slow considering how quite the restaurant was.
The rump steak looked enemic, it certainly hadn't been cooked on grill or fried it looked like it had been cooked in the microwave! It was tough & just gristle totally inedible, I spoke with a staff member who said they would give my 50% discount seriously I haven't eaten hardly any, he agreed not to charge me for the main course (the steak) the girl who was our waitress was lovely and so apologic she did say several people had complained about the steak.
My friend has to have a gluten free diet the waitress noted this she said she could have the burger without the bun after checking with the kitchen, when the food came my friend was given a burger the kitchen had put the burger in a bun then took it off again luckily the waitress spotted it a new burger took nearly 40 minutes to be cooked. Had the waitress hadn't noticed my friend would of been ill. The manager said that the burger was on the house! It wasn't brilliant & the cheese was disgusting.
We only paid for our drinks as the food so disgusting.
Cocktails
We were going to order some Cocktails but noticed that the next table hadn't drank their's we asked if the drinks were OK they said no they were all watered down.
I would advise to avoid this restaurant like the plague the reason this restaurant was the only place in Leicester with any availability to eat on a Saturday night was obvious. As we weren't the only people with issues speaks volumes.
Popped in today for the first time. The decor is clean and bright with many nice personal touches.
We ordered the 'Bombay Bicycle', a milkshake and a Rose and Pistachio drink. All the food was fantastic!
The 'Bombay Bicycle' was a delicious vegetarian, gluten free option, and the drinks were both great.
Definitely recommend this place and its menu instead of the many other generic and more expensive dessert parlours in the city.
Absaloutly what I expected from these type of restaurants in leicester now ...
The free starters bread dips ... great as it sounds, the dips looked and tasted awfull ... the white dip was not kept at the right temperature and soon as It touched my lips ..alergy attack ! I dont know what crap was in it but it did not taste right ! Cutting corners right ?
The mains well I never wanted rice .. I am prediebetic and I'm gluten intolerant.. I wanted grilled mince meat with salad that's it !!! ..Not rocket science i said to the waitress ... (she served up the rice ) ... well the rice looked awfull and tasted bad ... I am a chef i had to taste it .
I would certainly advice that you to look Into your Ingradients . please do not cut corners .
Your cold temperatures are not consistant , you can tell in taste of the food . You are not recording or mointering your frdges and freezers ....your dips can do serious harm served at warm tepretures let alone anything you provide !
Your bread is not made from the heart you can taste it .... sorry
I will certainly update if I see any improvements on my next visit .
Your serving staff waiters amd waitress are amazing but they need to listen to the customer, if they do not want something they should be able to adjust regardless! ..you are lucky to have them .
Food yummmmm...service fast n efficient....ambience was fine....loved dhaba chicken,naans,sizzlers....free car park...drinks nice...no complaints at all...would suggest chef to use less food colour in their green and red table sauces and in the food. They do cater and have awareness for gluten free diet.
We had a super Sunday lunch today - the beef was particularly excellent. I have coeliac disease and was completely confident in the gluten free options. Thank you
Lovely place. Were delighted at the amount of gluten free options and were served by a lovely young lady called Fatima. She was polite and very attentive. A great experience. Definitely recommend this place.
Lovely fresh vegan snacks and cakes. Gluten free options which are clearly labelled (although produced in an environment that handles gluten so not suitable for all. Great range of products for the home and beauty as well as store cupboard items.
We ate in, Friday night. Lots of delivery guys calling. Able to get gluten free choices. Had meat feast for 2, delicious & plentiful. Did have paprika on fries, able to give me some plain fries.
