Frodo Joe's is a must-visit if you enjoy crepes. I stopped by for breakfast and the entire experience was top notch.
As I sat down to browse the menu, the waitress brought over a carafe of cucumber, mint, and citrus infused water. It was a nice refreshing touch.
They have around 40 savory crepes and 15 dessert crepes on their menu. It looks like they could also be made gluten-free. Crepe was top tier. One of the best I've had anywhere in the world. Crepe itself was thin, crispy, and still tightly folded. No skimping on the fillers in my USA Crepe; it was stuffed full of meats (thick cut ham, turkey, salami, sausage), mushrooms, cheese, and sun-dried tomatoes.
Sometimes when you see 'premium' ingredients like sun-dried tomatoes and roasted garlic mentioned, you might only get a few pieces scattered in. Not here! There was enough sun-dried tomatoes and the other fillers to balance out eat bite.
Frodo Joe's also serves up freshly made smoothies, made to order. My Berry Balanced Smoothie was blended smooth and not too sweet.
Ambience-wise, the cafe instrumentals playing in the background was relaxing and only interreupted occasionally by the blender. All of the service and kitchen staff were all really friendly, not just to customer, but also to each other. It seems like an upbeat, cordial work place, kudos on hiring the right staff.
I definitely will be back to try more of their crepes and smoothies. Highly recommended.
Gluten free options. Delicious lamb shawarma plate (the lamb is very flavorful, tender, and juicy). The falafel is perfect. It’s crispy and crunchy on the outside and the inside is moist with flavor. No crumbling or dryness. Loved everything I had!
Great atmosphere. We ordered gluten free. There was a little confusion in the beginning which was sorted out quickly.
Friendly staff. Great service and food.
Uni was not available today. I am definitely coming back to eat here. Great food for affordable price
I got an acai bowl, it was delicious. The acai base was smooth, not hard and icey like some places. I also got an OG burger. Appreciated that they have gluten free buns/options. Definitely would return. Staff were also very attentive.
I love this place. Fridays they have live music! Favorite is the tomato pizza (and I don’t love tomatoes) but there are really no bad choices here. Vegan and gluten free options, too!
When I really want a decent meal, where the manager and staff go above and beyond to work around my allergies to dairy, soy and gluten... They check the ingredients on each item, down to the sauce ingredients! They are always kind, friendly and easy-going. One staff lady has worked there for the 3 years we've lived here. You know staff is happy when they stay! Recommend for small gathering to about 15 people. Safety measures are on point. Thank you, Strizzi's!
As a San Francisco transplant, I missed having an Ike’s in my own neighborhood. I have celiacs, and have to select the gluten free (allergy) option. The weekend manager came out and assured my husband the food was being prepared on a separate station - this deserves an additional star. And of course the sandwiches were delectable and mouthwatering. P.S we went back the next day cause of how rarely I get to eat good gluten free sandwiches that don’t taste like cardboard.
