This place is a hidden gem with unique coffees and incredible gluten free, vegan and many soy free delicious healthy bakery bites. I struggle to find anything on the island as I'm allergic to gluten dairy egg and soy and ran across this cafe to try to fill my stomach with something. The rose pistachio healthy cake was incredible!!! Along with the biscotti
I explained many times to the waitress that I have I have celiac (gluten free), and also have a potato allergy and I wanted to order the ribs. For the side she recommended the salad since I can't have fries, and I said no croutons since they contain gluten. The ribs were delicious and I will be back for them, but as I was already halfway through eating my salad I noticed two small croutons hidden under some of it. I don't know if they premake the salads and just picked off the croutons or what, but the salad is definitely not celiac safe if that is the level of care you put into making them safe for people with food allergies. We deserve to eat out just like everyone else and just like with any medical condition we are allowed to ask for accommodations.
We had a reservation on Friday night just the two of us. We were sat at a 2 top near the bar. Our waitress was nice and greeted us quickly. We came here specifically for their GF menu. If you have Celiac you CANNOT eat here, things listed GF are all cooked in a shared fryer and on the same surfaces as their pizzas. I tried to get clarification and got very unsure and vague answers from our server. In the end we waited over an hour for a house salad and roasted cauliflower, they only thing that seemed somewhat safe. I should have followed my gut and left after the menu discussion, but they already had $40 from the online booking and I figured a house salad was safe. Maybe they wouldn't have charged us the $40 no show, but at that point the place was loud, smokey, and we were ready to leave and discussion seemed like another awkward conversation. Long story short, if you have Celiac there are many other places in the area you can safely eat that you don't have to yell over the restaurant noise.
*Since I cannot respond to the managers post I will edit mine. The server stated to us that there was NO dedicated G/F fryer. We didn't make that assumption. It was the first question we asked. I would wait hours for safe G/F food had that been known. It wasn't a matter of us being impatient.
First yoga then juicy fix here - match made in heaven. Check out their coconut water and grab a juice for takeaway. If you're hungry seriously those wraps are divine #vegan #glutenfree
The staff are passionate about quality, deliciousness, and customer care. We enjoyed a lively and detailed discussion about the crust ingredients and baking process. They accommodated our time needs. I have gluten sensitivity and did not notice adverse effects. Yumminess. We really enjoyed the Bianca pizza.
The best gluten-free pizza we’ve ever had! Even if you’re not gluten free, this flatbread crust is the best. Super flavorful, fresh ingredients, made to order and reasonably priced. Excellent service; friendly, personal owner and staff, felt welcomed like new friends not just tourists. Can’t wait to visit Kauai again and make this our go-to. Highly recommend!
Stopped in during a rainy day and had some delicious acai bowls!! They have gluten free granola, fresh fruit, smoothies, bowls, and coffee. I forgot to take a picture because I ate it so quickly. 100% would recommend! The gals working also had great advice on beaches and things to do around the north shore.
Note: Parking is a little weird, and you may need to park on the side of the road. The store's interior is cozy/small and you might need to wait outside if it is busy.
Ate lunch and dinner here with family of 6. Burgers were extraordinary. Try the jacked up fries with ponzu sauce and seeds. If gluten free, request meat patty without marinade (all patties marinaded in terriyaki). Fries in shared fryer. Usually crowded. Son reported the loco moco was best on the island. Most seating outside. Highly recommend.
