All the food they make is incredible, coffee is delicious, and everything is very well labeled. My one gripe is there’s no gluten free sandwich bread. Which for a place that make gluten free items seems odd. So naturally as someone with celiac disease I can’t eat any of their normal menu items, only the gluten free bakery items (which is a good variety too!). I think the chairs could be a little more cozy. It’s very hard to sit and stay for a bit which I would prefer to do work. Otherwise there’s art everywhere and you can even watch the bakers design their cakes and cupcakes.
Tried Vortex Bottle Shop for the first time today. I ordered the Portobello Piece with the side broccoli salad and it was EVERYTHING!!! The Portobello Piece was so flavorful and had the right amount of mushrooms. I don’t know what sauce it is that was used but it tasted AMAZING!!! I especially LOVE that they have gluten-free options because having a gluten allergy prevents me from eating at many restaurants. Now the broccoli salad was also packed with flavor. It had raisins which I HATE, but all the flavors came together and I devoured it all INCLUDING THE RAISINS!!! My only negative comment is that this food experience ended after my last bite. 😭😭😭 This is now one of my spots!!! Can’t wait to try other menu items.
For gf people I’d do 3 stars probably just bc I’d say “yeah it’s good”, but I miss their garlic knots - pretty dang good!! Their regular pizza is pretty good too, I remember enjoying the Alfredo a lot. Now that I can’t have gluten it’s kinda sad going here 😆 But there are definitely a few options for the gf people, which is much appreciated!
A great spot, and we absolutely love to go to Mingo on Wednesdays (music bingo)! Being a Celiac, I wish there was a variety for wine/ ciders that are gluten free. Otherwise, we love going to this fun spot when we visit home!
I enjoyed my first experience at Wake Up and Eat. The quality of the food was pretty good and the food was tasty. The gluten free pancake was one of the better gluten free pancakes that I’ve had. It was moist and not too crumbly. The potatoes were served hot and fresh and were seasoned well. The turkey sausage was pretty good, too. I’ve had some bad turkey sausage and this one was one of the better ones that I’ve had. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and will be back at some point.
Ordered gluten free sub a couple times and realized the bread was different on one of them. I'm super sick now but the food was good. They needa be more careful with the gluten free tho.
(Soft opening) They’re good! I only had an app and drinks but I was happy with it. The service was good and they have plenty of drink options. I love that gluten free options are clear on the menu!
Editing to say there’s not many gluten free options, but at least it’s clear.
