Had an amazing meal yesterday for early a Mother’s Day. We had the chili prawns for starters, surf & turf, 8 oz sirloin steak and burger mains and New York cheese cakes to finish. The steaks were cooked to perfection and they had such a big selection of gluten free available. Wanted to also thank Pawel our host who was checking on us and made us laugh. Will most definitely visit again.

I haven't been to The Princess Charlotte since Covid and was interested to see if it had changed. They have developed an extension at the back which was beautifully decorated and we were sat quickly. My friend was gluten free so normally her options are very limited and she struggles to enjoy food outings without feeling like she has the same options as others. She was thrilled when she was given a whole gluten free menu and it matched a lot of the main menu too. The food arrived in a timely manner and was delicious. I had the hummus bowl while my friend had the gluten free pulled chicken cottage pie - both were delicious. It was very enjoyable, feel good food. However, it wasn't the food or the atmosphere which will make us want to come again. It is Georgina. What a wonderful server! She was kind and attentive. She gave brilliant recommendations and made us feel so welcome with little conversations and a smile that made you forget it was pouring down with rain outside. She even offered us a takeaway bag too for our leftovers. The art of service has been lost since Covid and I can't remember the last time I had felt like I had been 'looked after' at a restaurant, but Georgina is a shining light at The Princess Charlotte and I hope we see her again soon.

As a gluten free person, I was disappointed with both the service and the menu. Upon entry I was told to scan a code which sent me to a Web link that was impossible to review against the menu. The set menu had no gluten free starters, the waitress basically told me I could change between the the two. The main menu didn't say what was gluten free and there were hardly any items that were not. On ordering we were not asked for any allergies and I wasn't offered to remove anything from my food, so onion rings turned up which contain gluten. The plates are too small for the portion size.

Visited today with family for breakfast. I am coeliac and pleased that you offered gluten free options for most of the breakfast menu, and it is the reason I rated this a four star experience, BUT disappointed that the cake section only offers chocolate brownie, when a lot of other garden centres I visit offer a lovely selection of gluten free cakes. It would be nice if you could review this on your next change of menu. Even if it was pre wrapped but please offer a choice. It was sometimes difficult to attract a member of staff when we wished to order further drinks and cafe was not over busy during our visit.

We ordered a takeaway and I was blown away with how helpful the member of staff was regarding my gluten and yeast allergies. I have not been able to eat Chinese takeaway for as long as I remember so didn’t expect to be able to eat it, but I called to ask if there was anything suitable for me to eat, the very kind gentleman told me to pick anything from the menu and he would ensure it was made to my requirements. I chose my meal and it arrived and not only looked great it also tasted great! I am more than happy to report that I have had no reactions and I will 100% be ordering again!
