Lovely pub with warm, friendly service.
Visited here for breakfast and Sunday lunch during a trip to Pembrokeshire.
We were very pleased with the amount of gluten free options available as my partner is coeliac - she was blown away by how delicious the food was!

There was no-one to greet us to tell us where our booked table was. We had to stop a member of staff who happily assisted us - usually there is someone on the door greeting customers upon entry.
Service at the bar was fine and the bartender was very helpful with my wife's gluten free order.
I find that the drinks at all Marston's are VERY expensive and it puts me off going to your pubs.
The food was satisfactory - nothing special. My carvery was OK at best (the one a couple of weeks ago was much better overall - the meat on offer was the end of the joints for all 3 meats. My beef was really chewy with a seam of fatty gristle going through it. The turkey was just a mass of crumbled meat as it had dried out so much. The cabbage was almost raw and I couldn't eat it. The rest of the veg was fine.
The tables weren't 100% clean and a bit sticky. Only a few napkins in the condiment holder - I had to fetch more.
I find that your pubs are nearly always understaffed with the staff on duty run off their feet.
The Blaina Wharf lacks an atmosphere and isn't somewhere that I'd like to spend a whole evening in - we didn't stay after we had finished our meal.
Most Marston's pubs that I've had to use are usually severely understaffed with the staff on duty rushed off their feet.
Came here with my mam who’s gluten intolerant and the server helped her with the menu quickly and painlessly, really friendly staff, great customer service!
Gluten Free - amazing experience!! My family went to Nando’s in Newport yesterday, 2 are gluten free. They offered the GF options straight away, made sure the chefs knew, washed the prep area before handling the food and when it came was delicious!!

My friends and I had a fantastic afternoon tea at Belle Vue. One of my friends is gluten free and was provided with a full selection of gluten free rolls, cakes, and scone, while the other two of us had our own selections. Proper china and linen made us feel very refined. The service was fantastic, very friendly staff. They even had doggie bags at hand ready for us to take our leftovers!
Outstanding service and amazing food once again. Always apprehensive about eating out due to my daughter having coeliac. There are not many places that she feels comfortable going too but can highly recommend the ridgeway.
We had the pleasure of celebrating my partner's 50th birthday at this incredible restaurant, and I can't recommend it enough! The authentic Italian food is absolutely outstanding – the steak was out of this world and the best garlic bread we've ever tasted. They also catered perfectly for gluten-free guests, which was a huge bonus. The customer service was exceptional; the staff went above and beyond to make the evening truly special for all of us. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel welcome and well taken care of. This place is a real gem, and we'll definitely be back! highly recommended
Tasty food ,but only 1 gluten free food ,apple + raspberry muffin wife says they are scrumptious lovely clean place friendly staff lively atmosphere ,lots different coffee tea ,hot chocolate with cream +chocolate flakes ,just go and indulge yourself, easy to get to ,toilets just outside +disabled to ,
Bottomless brunch with the girls was a great experience. Jess was very attentive and made sure we never went without drinks. My gluten free chilli bowl was fantastic, as were the cocktails!
Amazing service and food . Very reasonable priced and nice to see lots of gluten free choice. Highly recommended to go. I would ring to book a table. If you have special diet requirements they are very helpful.
My fav place to go for a quiet drink or coffee. The staff are always friendly and happy to help. Nice variety of drinks on the menu from softs, coffees and cocktails. The atmosphere is warm and cosy inside. Has a lovely outside seating area for those warmer days. It's dog friendly too which is a bonus. Only reason I marked food down by 1 star is there are limited gluten free options. What I have eaten there though was lovely. Definitely recommend.
Went at very short notice with a table of 12 everything ordered including the gluten free option was spot on!! they also managed to add an extra meal on just before our main order came out (for an awkward kid lol) thankyou all made a dinner for my son coming home a lush evening thankyou all the staff on tonight
Ordered online and the food is just out of this world! I am gluten intolerant and they helped guide me through the menu. Even wrote notes on all food that are gf when arrived. Fantastic service and amazing food. They couldn’t do enough for us.
OMG gluten free heaven ! These guys are incredible. They recently did a pop up at cheesefest (as they are available for hire). They are incredibly knowledgeable about gluten free. Everybody at the festival had nothing but amazing words to say about the food and the owners who are just lovely. In the shop in Newport, they also do the most delicious gluten free flapjack….. must have ! 100% my favourite place to eat 😊
Fantastic little place. Cheerful, helpful staff and exceptionally tasty food. Coconut Dhal was beautiful (as was the complimentary taster of black dhal!) Good coffee and cake to follow. Gluten free and vegetarian well catered for. Thoroughly recommend.
The chai latte and coffee walnut cake was INCREDIBLE, and my 4yo loved the decor. And a gluten free dessert was available too! Will definitely be back.
Called in on on the weekend for coffee and ice cream. As a coeliac, need to eat gluten free. All the ice cream they have is a "may contain" gluten. Staff were lovely about it, but couldn't have anything. Went home instead.
This is our second time coming to Gem42 and it definitely did not disappoint! The staff are outstanding and the food is sensational. Couldn’t recommend enough, also excellent catering for dietary requirements like gluten free etc! Such a delightful experience, already thinking about the next time to come back!!
Had this booked for a,few weeks. When we arrived was told ir was only tapas menu. I said I wasn't happy with that as 2 of us has food allergy & gluten free.
After the waiter spoke to the chef he happily obliged & gave us some choices off the main menu.
The food was really very nice.
The place is in the process of refurbishment & the toilets really need updating. But all that said I would go again
Had the prawn linguine earlier today, and being coeliac, need gluten free so they replaced the linguine with GF fusilli. They keep gluten free pasta in stock, and seemed very clued up. Was really tasty. Great addition to the market.

Delicious food and great for gluten free! So happy Masala Craft has recently opened at the market. They have really clear allergy information and even said they recently changed their wings so that they are also gluten free. They recommend you add any allergies to the comments when ordering on the market app. Really helpful staff. Such delicious curry!
