I’ve been gluten-free for over a decade, and now our 6-year-old is too—which makes finding kid-friendly GF food a real challenge. We’re from Florida and were driving to New Orleans when my husband discovered Guncles. He was so excited about it that we planned our overnight stop just so we could eat there—and wow, was it worth it!
When I say it was the best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had, I’m not exaggerating. We also grabbed some goodies to take with us: the cheddar biscuits (amazing!), the chocolate and spiced fig cake (so delicious), chocolate chip cookies (I want to buy more to give as gifts!), and their regular biscuits—which totally hit the spot.
I was so impressed. But beyond the incredible food, the owners and staff were kind, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. It’s rare to find a place with both outstanding gluten-free treats and such heart behind it.
It was so good, we’re actually trying to swing by again today before they close to grab more to take home for ourselves and our friends!
My server Dani was absolutely amazing! So kind and so helpful throughout the night. Always willing to get what ever I needed! And the food was amazing, I recommended bowls and the gluten free pazookie. A great night
Wonderful spot to grab a quick hot stone fired pizza. Lots of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options without sacrificing great taste! Also relatively inexpensive with a reward program that works especially well if you do by every now and then, including holiday promos for MOST even minor holidays.
We simply asked Google's Gemini for a place in Mobile that has good gluten-free options. We drove up from Orange Beach for the day because it was Misty and overcast. This is a quaint little restaurant in downtown Mobile that has good gluten-free choices and really good service. They don't have a specific gluten-free menu but they know how to make accommodations. The best gluten-free hamburger bun we've ever eaten in 15 years of being gluten free.
I have newly been diagnosed with Celiac and had low expectations that I could successfully find gluten-free items I could safely eat. I was in Mobile, hungry, and the restaurant appealed to me, so I gave it a chance.
Moe's has a special allergy menu informing customers which items on the menu are egg free and which are dairy free and which are gluten-free.
I had a lovely meal and suffered no consequences from eating in the restaurant. That is a win in my book.
First let me say, Sarah C. was one of the best servers I have ever had in Mobile, Alabama. She was knowledgeable, kind, and helpful! As someone with Severe Celiac, I don't often feel safe eating out, but she reassured me and made sure my food was cooked properly and I did not get sick!! (which is a HUGE win for me!) Sarah was incredibly personable and treated me with kindness and respect. In future visits, I will be asking to sit in her section because she took such great care of me. It was so reassuring to know that she has people in her life with celiac, which just boosted my confidence in her abilities and knowledge!
Slurp Society is back baby! Phenomenal food, service and ambience. Our server, Nathan, was so kind and knowledgeable about the food and cooking processes. We met the owner, Tyler- so kind and enthusiastic about reopening! I have celiac, and there are several celiac-safe options. I got the spicy red miso ramen - *chef’s kiss* and the creme brûlée is SO heavenly. Highly recommend.
So, we all know this is the best coffee in Mobile AND the customer service is genuine and unmatched. But there’s always someone that goes the extra mile, and that was Hailey! I’m 19 weeks pregnant and have a gluten sensitivity, but she made sure I got my gluten free biscuits and was just so so sweet! Love this new location and the people in it!
This is a great place for a sandwich and a salad bar. We lost our Jason’s Deli at home years ago and were very excited to have lunch here. It was just as we remembered it. They have gluten free bread for sandwiches! The service was great and the place is very clean.
Place was loud due to design. Gluten free option was horrible for my wife. My daughter and my food option was OK but we took it to go. Took forever to get the food. Not going back. The strange thing is my wife had gone there for lunch awhile back with tennis friends and her food was awesome. The order we had the other night was terrible for the gluten free option. Barely any toppings and the crust was garbage.
I recently was diagnosed with celiac, and have been struggling to find restaurants I can reliably eat at without getting sick. I eat at cava regularly and have had a fantastic experience every time! The staff have been very careful and kind when preparing my food, and I've never once had an issue with gluten contamination. I highly recommend checking it out for anyone with gluten issues, not to mention the food is amazing regardless of allergies.
Never had any place as if I had a gluten allergy or preference and then make up my burger with a gluten-free bun after I said preference that was so nice of them!
I go here for breakfast sometimes when I go in to work early. They have a large breakfast menu. Cool thing is they have gluten free pancakes and sugar free syrup upon request. My wife loves the GF pancakes. Food has always been good. Will be going back.
I have a gluten allergy, and they are so diligent about wiping down the counters and changing their gloves before preparing my sub. I am always so impressed by the customer service and willingness to go the extra mile to make sure they don't cross-contaminate my food! And the gluten free bread is SO good!
I enjoyed my first time here. We were seated quickly, our server was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was pleasant. I had the oyster scramble and juice. My friend loved the gluten free French toast. A very nice experience.
Delicious gluten free pizza! I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It’s clean, the customer as is excellent, and they have a wide variety of flavors, toppings, and sauces! I highly recommend!
Looks like they recently converted from a food truck to a restaurant location! The food was so so tasty. The guys working were super sweet. We loved the sea moss smoothie. So creamy, but not heavy. The mac and cheese was made with chick pea noodles, so it was gluten free and our daughter could eat it. Very special food.
I came for a birthday dinner on a busy night, I have food allergies and sometimes dining out can be quite difficult. The service here is great they were very accommodating. They were able to make my hibachi gluten free in the back and bring it out to me it was plated very nice. My waiter did great it was very busy and at no point did the staff make me feel like I was being a bother for asking many questions I would definitely return
amazing food!!! I wish they had this place in Baldwin County-- and there are plenty of delicous Gluten-free options. Will come back a third time for sure!!
This place is a hidden gem in Mobile. I found them on Seed Oil Scout. It’s the only restaurant in Mobile that actually is seed-oil free! I was so excited when I found this option. The grass-fed beef is SO good. I also really enjoyed the cabbage side. I ordered a golden milk latte. It was one of the best I’ve ever had. I really appreciate the care and consideration that is put into the quality. It’s extremely rare to find, especially in this area. Please check this place out. It’s my new go-to when in town! So so good. I love the chill atmosphere as well. I am dairy and gluten-free, and really enjoyed. There’s something for everyone. Support places like this that actually care about quality.
Took the wife to enjoy some pizza for date night. It was a great little place. They even had gluten free pizza crust. I would give them 5 stars if not for a couple small hiccups.
Their ranch and gorgonzola dressing were mixed up and when put on your salad can be very surprising.😯
Over all I would suggest you try this little gem of a place in downtown Mobile.
Very disappointed and frustrated. I made a pit stop on my road trip to get something to eat. Once I received my order, I drove off. I was about to eat my sandwich, but I noticed that the gluten-free bun was cold. Upon opening the wrapper and willing to push through the coldness…the bun was FROZEN. The more disappointing thing was the fact that the employees most likely knew that the bun was frozen, and they decided to put it in the bag anyway. A frozen bun with a hot piece of grilled chicken do not mix.
Been here twice now, with my college class and taking my family out. I love the food and the coffee here! I'm on a gluten free diet and ordered their Wheatwich for my second visit, and it was delicious!! My brother and mom also enjoyed their meal. The staff here are so sweet and make sure you are taken care of.
When you have a friend with a gluten allergy you really have to get real with where you go to lunch. Clean Eatz has a real good menu with lots of good eats!
My friend had the nugget wrap and I had the blackened salmon wrap with a side of veggies. Both were very tasty! They also offer a variety of items including a “make your own bowl option.
Clean Eatz not only has a decent cafe that offers a plethora of smoothie options, but also has a decent meal plan.
I have two suggestions. One, if there is an item listed on the menu and you are out of it, tell the customer first, in case they want to make another choice. Secondly, if you advertise a veggie cup as a side item, and it’s only raw vegetables, you should either list it as so, or have your server tell the customer that out front. Some people may not want to eat raw vegetables.
The staff is great at their jobs and the atmosphere is bright and uplifting.
Yes, I would eat there again!
The absolute best. All of their locations are always welcoming, the drinks are amazing and even the food is some of the best around. Especially the GF sausage egg and cheese. Normally not a gluten free fan but this may be the best biscuit I’ve ever eaten. Give it a try next time you stop in the morning.
Carrabba’s has become one of my go-to spots, and for good reason—it’s got the reliability of a chain but the heart of a local gem.
The moment I walk in, I feel at ease. The soft lighting, the rustic-yet-refined decor, and that incredible aroma of garlic butter in the air—it's a whole mood. And then there’s the food! As someone who eats gluten-free, it's refreshing eating a pasta that actually tastes like a savory pasta. The wood-grilled salmon is seasoned and tender, the Minestrone Soup is rich and comforting, and even their salads keep the flavor alive without missing a beat.
But what truly makes me a regular? The people. The staff is welcoming without being overbearing, professional but never stiff. And the management—huge props to them for creating such a warm, seamless experience. It’s that rare kind of effortless hospitality that makes me feel like part of 'the family'.
At the end of the day, Carrabba’s is more than just a meal—it’s a place that feels like home, with delicious food and genuine service that keeps me coming back.
The food is delish and the service very attentive with a Grandma's kitchen feel to it. Even with dietary limits, no dairy/gluten, I was not disappointed.
Meat Boss has been a long time favorite, but we hadn't stopped by since my girlfriend discovered she has Celiac. We recently were so happy to find out that their meats and sauces are gluten free! There is a current gluten-free menu available, and the cashier was able to answer the questions we had. We were assured by staff that there are thorough precautions against cross contact as well for gluten-free orders. We shared a delicious baked potato with pulled pork. She had no reaction at all, and both of us were stuffed. Everyone there was very nice, some staff even going out of their way to meet the people visiting for a late lunch. We will be back soon!
Rachel was a phenomenal server, helped us tremendously when trying to figure out what we were able to eat that was Gluten Free. Steak was very tender, cooked to perfection, and seasoned deliciously. Seafood had wonderful flavor and was cooked perfectly as well! We will definitely be coming back next time we’re in Mobile!!
I love Mcalister for the fact of being Gluten friendly. But when I went on October 15th and ordered online at work because I would be in a hurry getting back to work I wanted my order done at 12:00 I arrived at Mcalister 12:20 due to my clinic running over. I had to be back at 1:00 to start back clinic. I arrived 12:25 they told me they did not see my order but would make it ASAP. After about 10 minutes they noticed it sitting on the counter. So I got my cold meal and ran back to work I sat down to eat it and realized no fork so I would eat my sandwich and then search for a fork when I opened my sandwich there was a huge hair made into it. I tried calling and their phone would not ring so I ran quickly back over there to let them know I need a refund and gave them the sandwich back to them he stated he will refund me my money. So I left and went back to work sat down to eat my potato and went to open my sour cream to realize it was horse radish! no sour cream! Here I called last week still no refund they told me to give it 10 business days so I called back 10/29 and spoke to manager and gave him all the info and he told me he would call me back shortly with an update now we are on 10/30 no update and no call back. It should not be such a stressful situation to get my money back when I was not even able to eat their food. Very disappointed will not be back at THIS locations!
