My wife and I have been wanting to try the Wild Carvery for a while. Upon arrival the place looks nice, it looks neat and without clutter, very modern.
My wife and I walked up to the register and the gentleman behind it showed us the menu on the counter as well. We talked for a few minutes while we ordered. There was a pride in the food that they served there that was evident as we chatted.
My wife ordered the Mediterranean Chicken salad and I ordered the Steak.
The plates were beautiful when they arrived at the table. The chicken on my wife's salad was perfectly cooked and seasoned. For the most part I don’t order chicken when I go out but this I would order.
My steak was also perfectly cooked and seasoned. The ingredients were all fresh and each fork full was delicious. Some friends of ours joined us and I sampled their fresh chips, perfectly fried and crisp. From what I saw from across the table their gluten free wrap was huge!!!
Even though it was counter service they made it a point to check on us. I highly recommend trying this place and we will be back happily.
They have the best gluten-free pancakes I e ever had. They taste just like my mom’s pancakes. I don’t know how they did it!
Get here early—line forms fast because the food is amazing!
Lunch at 1 pm Saturday with no wait for a seat. Rapid service and great staff. Wonderful food with lots of gluten free options. Free parking at the parking garage to the east at the first entrance.
Great and tasty gluten free options. Recommend! It is also on the "Find me GF" app. They can also accommodate modifications (e.g. GF bread, hold the avocado). Would deffo eat hear again.
Hands down best Gluten Free Dairy Free Donuts! So grateful to have delicious options for my food allergies. The owners are amazing too! If you’re in the area you must check it out 😍
Quick stop Sunday AM, prior to leaving Burbank. We pull up at 8:10am, thinking parking is going to be limited, and we would be dealing with a wait time. There was plenty of street parking up front with a 1-hour park time, and ABEC was wide open, no wait. I had the gluten-free pancakes with a cold brew, while my Son got a tall oj with french toast. Both came with bacon and (1) egg. They did not have real maple syrup, which urks me. Their menu was absolutely terrific, too. It's odd. I was also displeased with their lack of beer, let alone, no IPA's. Thankfully, they had honey, and I didn't need a beer anyway. The food and service were fantastic. The butter was cheap, but always does the trick. You can tell they had regulars. It was a nice and pleasant atmosphere. I would definitely return.
If you didn’t tell me the food was gluten free, I would not have known the difference!! Such amazing food! The staffs wonderful and I even got to meet the man behind the cider!! Everything was wonderful! We will be back!
Lots of gluten free options. Ready-to-eat chicken is free of carageenan (unlike Costco and Vons, last I checked). Oat milk and lots of dark chocolate options.
My friend and I shared three different items, the arugula salad, a pizza with a gluten-free crust, and the pasta puttanesca with gluten-free pasta. All three courses were delicious, the portions were generous, the service was excellent, and it had a pleasant atmosphere. We will definitely be back. We're particularly impressed with the tastiness of the pasta and pizza crust in light of the fact that they were gluten free
I had a friends birthday coming up and thought this would be the perfect time to try ordering some gluten free cupcakes for her.
It's a bit of a hunt for an exclusive place that specializes only in gluten free baked goods in the valley area.
Was feeling pretty excited as I did see on the website they only use non-gmo ingredients and that's a good base. So they also offered a lot of different flavor combinations for the cupcakes.
The staff at Half Baked are nice and they were happy to answer all my questions about the gluten free products. I remembered my husband had picked up some of the their gluten free cookies that we shared with the same friends when we had them over for a weekend lunch and to be honest, I couldn't taste any difference in the gluten free choc chip cookies and regular cookies.
Their cookies were delicious and as a test run we thought there was no issues with the gluten free cookies so this was the perfect place to try the gluten free cupcakes for my friends birthday.
I ordered a mix of different flavored cupcakes and everyone seemed to enjoy them for dessert. In fact, when I shared with a few people at the birthday dinner they were gluten free cupcakes everyone was impressed as they were fluffy in texture and not like some they had tasted before that were dense. I think we've all had those kind of gluten free cupcakes.
These cupcakes were rich in flavor and not too heavy, but of course sweet as all cupcakes are.
The next day I got a call from my friends husband that the cupcakes must have been gluten and not gluten free as she had a lot of stomach distress during the night and couldn't sleep. I was beside my self as I thought they would be alright as we had done a test run with the gluten free chocolate chip cookies before. Was it possible the bakery made a mistake and gave us gluten cupcakes instead? Maybe we will never know. Mistakes can happen it's understandable. It's just disappointing when it's a friends birthday.
So would I go back to Half Baked, absolutely. It was last year when this happened and this year I baked the gluten free cupcakes instead of buying them and was very careful with all the ingredients. It all went well the next few days after her birthday so I was able to create gluten free cupcakes and keep it at a high quality in taste and flavor she mentioned.
They do bake regular non gluten free pastries and other baked goods we've tried and all have been delicious. But thought it might be helpful to others to share our experience with the gluten free side of things. We don't know 100% if there was the cupcakes and it's hard to know.....
9.99 lunch deal - personal pizza, salad, and a drink. Can't beat that these days. As with most restaurants on Riverside Drive, parking is difficult. I really like their gluten-free pizza (not part of the lunch deal).
The Toluca Lake Tocaya has a really lovely and thoughtful team. The General Manager is a pleasure to speak with as well. I had a misshap with the salads being confused/swapped, but the problem was sorted quickly. Love that you get to choose the protein and base as well as the gluten-free options. Would enjoy more salad options and less salt. The salsa verde bowl is my go too! (Please make the tortilla soup GF and have a spicier salsa option!) The rewards program is a huge bonus, and there are frequent festive bonuses. Great amount and quality of food for the price.
It's a small walk-up Cafe, with some tables on the sidewalk. They use Intelligentsia coffee so it's dark roasted and intense. I go for the Cuban coffee, it's one of the few places to get it in LA. Their pastries & cookies are mostly gluten free and plant-based, in accordance to the hipster clientele they serve. Jamming busy on weekends, but they move quickly so you'll get in and out fast.
Fun restaurant with extensive menu and great market/deli/bakery/gelateria in adjacent room. You go up to counter to order so many options are not made to order but still good. Comfort Italian food rather than high-end but still good and great prices. $3.50 glass of house wine filled to the brim was not bad! Had the eggplant parmesan. Would recommend. Gluten-free pasta available, salads and meatless options.
My favorite coffee shop ever! Everyone is always so kind and the vibes are extremely cozy both inside and outside. Great selection of coffee, as well as vegan/gluten free baked goods (I recommend the GF banana bread) and non-dairy milks! My favorite coffee is the frosted shortbread latte and I highly recommend it, though the iconic blueberry iced coffee is yummy, as well. <3 u Priscilla’s!!
At the Burbank Trader Joe's, the shopping experience is consistently delightful, earning it a well-deserved five-star rating. The moment I step through the doors, I'm welcomed into a vibrant and friendly atmosphere, where the staff go above and beyond to assist. This location stands out for its exceptional selection of unique and high-quality products, ranging from organic produce to an exciting assortment of vegan and gluten-free options. The snack and frozen food sections are particularly impressive, offering a variety of delicious choices. The store layout in Burbank is intuitively designed, facilitating a smooth shopping experience even during busy times. What truly sets this location apart is Trader Joe's commitment to sustainability, visible in their product sourcing and reduced plastic usage. The Burbank store is more than a grocery destination; it's a community hub where healthy, responsible eating is both accessible and enjoyable. Their reasonable pricing for such high-quality products makes every visit worthwhile. I wholeheartedly recommend the Burbank Trader Joe's for an outstanding grocery shopping adventure.
Relaxed and chilled atmosphere, great menu with vegetarian and gluten free options. Quick service despite being very busy. Food was fresh and very tasty and the gluten free bun was delicious. Great place to sit, eat and relax.
Most folk go here in the evenings, but this place is one of my fave lunchtime spots.
The menu isn't huge, but it has a little bit of everything for most palates. The meatatarians will not faint, the vegans will be happy, and there's also some gluten-free items as well. My personal faves are the Disco Fries (both versions taste excellent) and the Buffalo Wrap.
There's a revolving beer list, and they occasionally have a cider on tap as well. For the non-drinkers, their iced tea is surprisingly refreshing.
This is my favorite Veggie Grill location in LA because the parking is easy. Lately the app has been offering discounts and freebies over the past year that is helpful. My favorite things to order from Veggie Grill are the burgers and nachos. They have gluten free buns which is nice.
I had an incredible dining experience at Castaway, thanks to our amazing server, Shaunte! She was extremely detail-oriented and attentive, making sure my severe gluten allergy (I have celiac disease) was taken seriously. She walked me through all the gluten-free options with care, which made me feel so comfortable and safe.
Shaunte also went above and beyond to make my boyfriend’s birthday special by bringing out a cake and even offering to take pictures of us in front of the beautiful view. On top of that, we asked to change the steak temperature while waiting for our food, and she didn’t hesitate for a second—she accommodated our request effortlessly.
She was thoughtful, welcoming, and truly made our night special. I really hope to be served by her again the next time we visit. Thank you, Shaunte!
Good location, good service and fair prices for delicious food. My bf has celiac’s and it’s the only sushi spot that has a full gluten free menu that we’ve found so far.
It is quite expensive and the food is not really worth it. The staff are friendly and there is a great choice of games but the amount of TV screens is really distracting. Very little choice for coeliac.
Still my fav place for a stereotype American breakfast experience, but I'm a tourist, that's the kind of dinner I'd see in movies. Anyway, the food is great and there's gluten free options
Delicious food, friendly staff, great experience all round. The good, and even the sauces, are gluten free, and the meat is delicious and well prepared for cooking at your table. Staff are super nice and helpful and the place is clean and well organized. Recommended!
A good place for casual Italian style food. The wait staff are friendly and attentive. The lunch menu is a good value. They even have the option for a gluten free pasta...
Small shop, good espresso. And I adore elephants. A great stop and not too far from Porto’s if you don’t feel like dealing with the crowds. I did pay $7.50 for a small coffee with oat milk tho.
They have vegan and gluten free options.
We came in at the right time 5:30pm. Quiet place but the smell is incredible and enticing. My husband got the meat lovers on cauliflower with mild spice & I got Hawaiian on gluten free. Service was great, when we were ordering a pick up order came in and interrupted as we were ordering & the gentleman behind the counter politely told him he was with a customer. I do appreciate it when given full service. Gave 4 stars because it is a bit pricey but good. Kid approved! lol
The portions were a little smaller than I expected - which only mattered because I was splitting. We just added another side. Veggies and trout were very good - and gluten free. - JW
