Gluten free Pancakes tasted "tart" or "tangy", as if they had used sour milk (not buttermilk) or cream cheese. I had two bites and brought this to my server's attention. From my peripheral vision I saw the chef approach the table and then do an about face ... maybe he thought I didn't see him. Was I not worth talking to? They should have comped it, they tasted gross. The gf bread was nice but they didn't offer butter. If you are celiac or allergic to wheat there are definitely nicer places to go to (I found this place on "Find Me GF app). Definitely not worth the $40+ I put down. Super friendly staff though, no complaints there.

Quick stop Sunday AM, prior to leaving Burbank. We pull up at 8:10am, thinking parking is going to be limited, and we would be dealing with a wait time. There was plenty of street parking up front with a 1-hour park time, and ABEC was wide open, no wait. I had the gluten-free pancakes with a cold brew, while my Son got a tall oj with french toast. Both came with bacon and (1) egg. They did not have real maple syrup, which urks me. Their menu was absolutely terrific, too. It's odd. I was also displeased with their lack of beer, let alone, no IPA's. Thankfully, they had honey, and I didn't need a beer anyway. The food and service were fantastic. The butter was cheap, but always does the trick. You can tell they had regulars. It was a nice and pleasant atmosphere. I would definitely return.

We picked this restaurant for the gluten free options that other reviewers had left. The atmosphere was good and the service was good as well. However, the gluten free pancakes were unfortunately not good. They had an odd taste from the start but were nice and fluffy so I just added more syrup hoping it would help. It did not. They had a sour taste, maybe sort've reminiscent of a very sour sourdough? In any case I was worried they might have gone bad so I notified our waitress who had the kitchen make another so they could taste it. Good news is it wasn't bad, bad news is that's the way it was supposed to taste. The rest of my food (eggs and bacon) was good but if you're going for the pancakes I'd choose another restaurant. I've been gf for 10 years now and have had many gf pancakes from many places and none have tasted like these. Other than that, their food is good!
