It’s a super casual which is great in area. Drinks were good and well priced. The steak was grisly and couldn’t even cut the center. The Ruben was actually very good and was impressed they had gluten free bread.
Only 1 nondairy milk option (almond milk, which is super unethical) and they were out of all gluten-free & vegan muffins. :( The worst thing was how insanely over cooked the egg was. It was rubbery. The baked goods tasted very generic (I'm looking at you, grocery store bakery.) We were super bummed, as this is right on the square and seems super promising.
Our meal and experience was fabulous. While it is clear by the waitlist and empty tables they are probably having the same staffing issues as most places are. This had NOT affected the kitchen for sure.
I believe it may be under new management. Whatever you are doing keep it up. My pork belly was cooked to perfection. My parents meals were excellent as well.
The wait staff wasn't completely sure what gluten free was, but asked questions talked to the kitchen and my meal was safely prepared.
Thank you for offering a delicious and safe meal!!
My husband and I spent last week in Dahlonega for our 15th wedding anniversary and we ate here the night of our anniversary. We loved it! The view from the balcony where we sat was gorgeous. The food was delicious. We got the deconstructed crab rangoon which was so good. We loved the dipping sauce that came with it! We both got pasta rustica (and they do have gluten free pasta upon request!). It was so good! I got a glass of Raspberry Demi Sec and my husband got a glass of 2019 Temperanillo. Both drinks were very good. The waiter, Gary B, was awesome! The manager who also came around was equally awesome. We can't remember his name but he was a very good manager. Both had great people skills and checked on you often but not too often where it was annoying. The menu is higher priced but we absolutely feel it was worth every penny. The only complaint we have is all the fruit flies! They did everything in their power to remedy the situation but those little things were everywhere.
Decided to make a quick trip during the week to spend some time in Dahlonega before my better half heads back to teaching in a few weeks. Walked around the square for a bit and walked by several restaurants before smelling the smoke from this place and had to try it. I ordered the Pig Melt with a side of potato salad and she had the pulled pork (minus the bun because she is gluten free) with chips. The Pig Melt is a big sammy and I could only eat about half of the side. We both loved the meat. Good smoke flavor. We both had the hot bbq sauce which was flavorful but not too hot.
The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the potato salad. I'm sure a lot of people like it the way they make it but it was basically just mayo and potatoes. Maybe some bacon bits or a little pickle might help.
Overall, this was a great experience and we'll definitely come back. They know how to make real BBQ!
Had gluten free pizza so that was a plus! Unfortunately, the meatloaf my partner ordered came out almost 15 min before my gf pizza. Timing is everything. Plus it was not hot. Our server Mia was great!
