The first time I tried Seva in Ann Arbor, Michigan, I ordered the spicy green curry. While I'm not a vegetarian, I have a gluten allergy, so this dish was safe for me. I enjoyed it, but I felt it was missing some spices, so I added salt and pepper. My husband ordered the portabella caprese on a gluten-free bun. When the order arrived, we double-checked, and it turned out the bread was not gluten-free. We've had similar experiences at other restaurants, so we always ask twice. Since my husband and I often switch dishes to taste each other's food, we make sure everything is gluten-free. We had to wait an additional 15 minutes for them to correct the order. Despite this hiccup, I still recommend Seva, especially if you're vegan, vegetarian, or have a gluten allergy. It's a safe place to eat.

I am allergic to gluten and cauliflower. It took them 5 minutes to sort it out, but they have both cauliflower and thick square gluten free crusts. The latter was worth every minute.
2/4 dishes were not good. Server stopped in just once after one bite a piece, then when the two people with edible dishes were nearly done. She could see two were barely touched, didn't ask how the food was, and since we needed to finish and leave we didn't ask for replacements. Once the two finished about 5 mins later, we waited 15 more minutes after for our check. Also, was told there weren't really gluten free options (despite other reviews having good experiences), unless I took the Caesar salad with no croutons. I got a salad with a crouton hidden about halfway through, so if you're really sensitive, avoid.
Fantastic coffee/lunch shop! the best gluten free brownies in Cadillac! Their creative drink menu is like no other! The lucky charms latte is one of my favorites ;-D
Witnessed the gal cross contaminating our gluten free order, and someone else's gluten free order. Clearly this establishment does NOT educate their employees on properly preparing their food with the safety, health and welfare of their customers in mind.
The food is always delicious and it’s a convenient place to stop for lunch. Laurie is especially nice and goes out of her way to make a gluten-free meal for me every time! I have celiac and have never had a problem. I definitely recommend coming here.
Possibly the BEST restaurant in the UP!! We come up from OH and ride snowmobiles out of our family cabin in Newberry and this restaurant alone is a reason to go to Grand Marais. This is not your bar food grease stop, this is good eating. We are gluten free and this restaurant accommodates the best in any restaurant we have tried in the UP. Lunch and dinner are stand out amazing. Staff is top notch and owners are good people. I work at a ‘casual/fine dinning’ restaurant very similar in Ohio and it’s rare I fine an establishment that I think holds up to my standers but I would feel right at home at the Breakwall. Keep up the amazing work, we will be back.
Portions are generous, and there are options for various dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free. Overall, it's a solid choice for a quick and satisfying Mexican-inspired meal.
