I found this shop early in the morning. I went in because I thought it looked similar to a certain famous cupcake shop. They also had vegan and gluten-free options. I wanted to order gluten-free, but there were only five cupcakes available in the morning. Are they leftovers from yesterday??? I wanted to ask, but thought it would be rude (I don't think it would be rude in America, but I'm sure they would say otherwise), so I went for the popular Chocolate Brooklyn whatever, which has a lot of different items lined up. I was nervous about whether the sponge would be fluffy or hard until I actually touched it, but I couldn't wait until I finished paying and touched it through the paper bag, and it was fluffy, so I was relieved. The taste was sweet, but both the frosting and the sponge were fluffy and good.

This is one of my fav restaurants! There are soooo many gluten free options I was honestly really surprised! I do wish they marked it on the menu instead of having to ask but the staff is always very knowledgeable. The coconut crusted chicken and banana pudding are a must try. I do love this place. The food is good, the plantains incredible and the women that work here r on top of it. I’m an avid goer and lover of this spot, however recently they have been updating their menu and the markings for what is GF and Vegan or Vegetarian are not consistent. This is a huge issue that I hope they solve. As I am annoying, I walked the waiter through all the mistakes in the menu which prompted a lovely waitress who seemed much more knowledgeable than the grumbling man I was dealing with, to come out and confirm I hadn’t been glutening myself here for 4 years. Please please I beg you fix the markings, have someone knowledgeable in dietary restrictions look over it or at least have multiple eyes on it to double check it’s consistent, because it’s super scary and incredibly annoying. Otherwise a gem, please get the plantains

NOT ALLERGY / GLUTEN FREE FRIENDLY AND RUDE. Super rude team on Saturday 6/7 - I’ve never experienced a restaurant team this blatantly rude instead of taking accountability for a major screw up. I have a gluten allergy and was brought a non-gluten free sandwich - after checking *twice* with my waitress who said it was gluten free (a lie) she took it back to the kitchen. Someone else brought the corrected gluten free sandwich out with a quick “sorry” and the next time I saw the waitress was when she handed us the bill silently. I went up to the team and explained it was a bit odd to not have the gf muffin charge comped (it’s the principle of it not the $1 charge) considering the whole ordeal and the whole team gave extremely nasty looks to me until my friend and I left. The waitress ended up bringing the new bill and conveniently said sorry when it came time to tip. The girls working rolled their eyes multiple times at me and my friend. You guys should be embarrassed. Never coming back. Anyone with any dietary needs should be cautious.
