Best Sandwich of my vegan gluten free life. (I got the turkey pesto special made gf - gf bread sub turki for tempeh) Ive never had this hearty and tasty of a sandwich that was vegan and gf. Beyond satisfying. I want to try and copy it at home but idk if I can infuse nearly enough flavor to match it!

Food was delicious, service was quick, and staff were kind. Broad menu of options with large vegan sections. Restaurant can make dishes that are gluten sensitive (though not Celiac safe). Similarly, they are very accommodating for other allergies, and can customize meals easily.
It is so awesome to have a bakery store that is totally gluten free. The goodies I purchased were delicious, I especially love their pecan bars. I just wish gluten-free products didn't have to cost so much more than typical flower products. That is typical no matter where you buy Gluten free products. Maybe someday there will be more competition with more gf businesses and that will bring the prices down. 🤞
Food was delicious. 9/10. My personal favorite dishes included green curry and praham long song. Everyone we talked to recommended the red noodles, so definitely try those as well! I got the foco roasted coconut juice as a drink which was nice but wouldn’t re-order. To be truthful, I only got it because it had boba. The sticky mango rice as dessert was DELICIOUSSSS and a fun cultural food to try. The cream cheese wontons were exquisite. Basic, but delicious. Almost everything here can be made vegetarian and gluten free which is great if someone has dietary restrictions. Overall would definitely recommend this place, especially with parents in town as it is a little pricey for the college student budget. The service was good except they do this thing where you have a table but must go to the front and order every time and then they bring your food out to you. I was not the biggest fan as someone constantly had to get up to go order food, a drink, etc. and it broke conversation. May just be a personal preference though. My final rating is an 8/10 for the restaurant.
Last week I had friends from out of town visiting Madison and I suggested we go to my favorite local pizza place : Grampa’s .
Cannot believe I had not left a review as I have been coming here for years and they have been my go to take out pizza place . I have brought friends , family and business colleagues here .
This is not your traditional pizza place . It is not thick crust , it’s not deep dish and it’s not Neapolitan . All of which I enjoy , but this place is unique . Not only is the crust thin but the toppings are specially crafted to create a memorable combination of flavors .
From their menu I have had every pizza flavor . Each topping has been selected and all go so well together . Seasonally (depending on what’s in season) they offer a unique flavor , like summer corn or fall turnip .
Tonight we chose Jambroni which I always add their chicken sausage and the Barbarini with extra watercress on top . Best part about the offering here is the availability of gluten free crust on the menu .
When dining in the staff is exceptionally friendly and know all about the flavor combinations. When doing take out the service is fast and I have never experienced any delay .
On occasion they have a shortbread rosemary butter cookie which is given at the end of the meal and it’s so tasty .
Five stars to this institution of specialty non traditional pizza in Madison .
Was on a mission to get spring rolls. Took food home to see “spring rolls” were wrapped with a raw wonton wrapper. I can’t have have gluten and uncooked wonton wrapper can give you food poisoning. No one said they were out of rice paper or offered me a substitution.
The best falafel you’ll find in Madison. Super accommodating for gluten allergies, speedy pick up service, and amazing and kind staff. My partner and I weren’t sure about how much food would be in the falafel platter so we ordered more falafel on the side. The platter came with SIX (6) falafel!!!! So we got to enjoy the extra side as a delicious lunch the next day. So happy to have The Mediterranean Joint in the neighborhood!!
Not the Weary I knew and loved anymore. I took my son out for dinner and I went home hungry. We both ordered the bad breath Burger, My son ordered his medium rare and I ordered mine well done with a gluten-free bun.
We waited an hour for our food and when it arrived My son’s Burger was cooked well done and mine came with a regular bun instead of gluten-free, my son decided to eat the burger as is, they took my burger back to remake it and put it on a gluten-free Bun. When I got my burger, it was rare not well done like I ordered. It also only had a very thin slice of cream cheese, not the quarter inch slice that it used to have. Definitely not the Bob’s bad breath Burger I remember And loved. At this point, we had been there for an hour and a half and my son had another engagement to go to so we needed to leave. They offered To make my burger again Or give me a refund, I took the refund. The greens were also wilted and didn’t have dressing on them. I Will not be back, this makes me sad but the new Management just isn’t measuring up.
I can’t recommend this place. I have given it three chances because people seem to like it. The first time I went, the owner, this blonde woman, was SO unfriendly and rude to me. I had never been there before and she basically yelled at me that they were cash only for pickup and told me to go away. The second time we went for dine-in, my friend is gluten free, she has celiacs. They blonde woman (again) said they could accommodate and the she was given a dish that did have gluten in it and she got sick. Our final time they gave me a dish that has pieces of meat mixed into my tempeh dish. Won’t be going here again.
We were there early but everyone was happy to accommodate us right away. Our server was very attentive throughout our visit and did a nice job explaining the theme of the restaurant right when she came over to our table. The atmosphere of the courtyard is unique and private. Quieter than I thought it would be right off of E Washington. All of the food we ordered was outstanding and the gluten free parsnip alternative for the risotto dish seemed to have just as much care to it as the regular dish would have received. Overall great experience.
Recently moved from out of state and took a chance because we were missing Ramen. Umami did not disappoint! From the service, atmosphere to our dishes. I have a gluten allergy which sometimes takes away from the flavor of things. I had the edamame and gluten free ramen. The ramen broth was rich and noodles were thin and delicious!
Always an amazing culinary experience. I love the chef tasting menu with the wine pairing. Chef Dan is so creative with food combinations and the presentation is extraordinary. And their Gluten Free accomodations are on par with the rest of the offerings.
The latest dessert, the slow baked peaches was mind blowing.
The menu is wrong, things listed as able to be gluten or dairy free cannot be!! Server not knowledgeable about menu at all. Everything WAY overpriced for the quality, including drinks. Have fun here!
Food was delicious as always! Also appreciate that they offer a gluten free bun option! Our server, Robbie, not only greeted us with a smile at the host stand the moment we walked in, but continued the warm welcome throughout the stay.
If you are allergic to Gluten, THIS is the place to get THE BEST whiskey ever. And it happens to be gluten free because it's from sorghum. Neat is how we do it at home most of the time, but the cocktails were on point delicious!
Reallllllllly wish we could still get Queen Jennie shipped to us! Gluten allergies are super tricky with alcohol and I have relied on getting my yearly stash shipped for 10 years now. I realize they may not have control of that (we live in Hawaii now and I think our state no longer allows it) but wanted to mention it. That said the drinks were Fantastic and we were happy to be able to pick up some bottles to take home.
The prices are average for being what is essentially a sushi place. They allow you to mix and match your own bowls, they have some gluten-free options, and their in-house tea is amazing. Parking is also available.
So mellow, and great for working! They have great WiFi and nice gluten free treats along with regular bakery. I had a latte rather than kava, but it was a tasty, pretty latte! They have a lot of board games too, and the coolest cribbage board I've ever laid eyes on! Also some kinda elevated shuffle-board thing that looks fun.
Absolutely loved the chicken spring rolls! I was happy to find they could be made gluten-free. Every bite was bursting with fresh ingredients and flavor. Also picked up a bottle of cold brew coffee, which I highly recommend—it was smooth and refreshing. Together, they made for a delicious meal at any time of day! I can't recommend this place enough!
The beer is really good. I had the hefeweizen and it has the classic banana notes and sweet floral with gluten free calories. Great patio spots and easy parking.
