I know you have to pay a lot more for good fresh seafood but quantity never replaces quality. Yesterday I was served the worst Seafood Platter ever, dominated by chips! Why doesn’t $34 simply buy you a smaller quantity of fresh local seafood. The only fresh items on plate were the 2 prawns. The scallops without beards were smothered in a commercial sauce & the fish was out of a packet. I was embarrassed as I had suggested Maroochy Surf Club for our party of 6. The seniors meals were also substandard as the fish and chips were also out of a packet. My gluten-free friend struggled to find a meal. If the Europeans can be more inclusive, why can’t we in Australia. In pubs in the UK, we were never served fish that wasn’t fresh and there were numerous gluten free choices. Sadly the broad Australian community have accepted a huge decline in standards or are not of an age when they know the taste of fresh fish!

Quite simply some of the best quality ingredients and skillful culinary execution I've experienced on the planet to date.
What a surprising and incredible find and well catered and cared for as a coeliac requiring gluten free food.
Staff were fantastic and the atmosphere was warm despite it being winter and raining.
As a retired chef myself it's a rare treat to have food out better than at home and I was so grateful for the unexpected experience.
