We arrived, unknowingly, half an hour before closing, and they still treated us fantastically. The food is spectacular, delicious, and the service is fantastic. A very cozy place where everything is gluten-free and lactose-free. The woman who served us knew almost no Spanish or English, but she did her best to give us 10 service. I wish I could give more stars. A wonderful place, with great food.
I emailed them about my allergies and about cross contamination and they emailed back " Hello, we have gluten free options ( the salmon, the tofu and the shrimps), our chicken and our tuna are not gluten free (we use normal soya sauce when preparing them)
They are in the same fridge as you can see when entering our restaurant but there is no other cross contamination. Our staff is prepared to deal with costumers with allergies and prepared to explain when you make your order.
Hope to see you soon :)

Excellent pizzas! Very light and tasty -
There are 3 choices of pasta: romana, Neapolitan and gluten-free.
Mini calzones for a super light and airy dessert!
Very reasonable prices
There are also large 1m pizzas -
Go for it ! It’s delicious!
In my top 3 of the best pizzerias
I emailed them about my allergies and about cross contamination and they emailed back " We have pizza gluten free for example we can use vegan cheese if you can have mozzarella … then also hamburger gluten free pasta … so come and please tell at the waiter all the allergies you have and we will take care of you 😉"
Fantastic cafe that you would almost walk past. Family friendly with great options for kids. Gluten free options available also. I'm a coeliac, such a treat to eat gluten free pizzas and baguettes. Quality is amazing! Staff are incredibly friendly and the quality and taste of the food is top notch. We've been going back regularly since our first visit. It seems to me like the best kept secret in the Old Village.

Nice location of the restaurant next to the market in Olhão, nice staff (most of them do not speak English, but the menu is available in several languages and online). The heavy traffic of cars on the street was a bit disturbing when choosing a place in the garden outside. Food good, gluten free pizza correct. Nice time at lunch. A big plus for a conscious gluten-free option.
We have been going on holiday to the Algarve with our family for a few years now and we never miss Bailote.
We have tried quite a few things on the menu – meat, fish, tapas, pasta and pizza – and we are always very satisfied.
I eat gluten-free myself, and this is one of the few places in the area where I have so much choice. Pizzas, bread, burgers, salads: it is not only on the menu, it is also incredibly good!
The warm atmosphere and the great service make it complete. Definitely recommended!

Me and my hubby went for a quick lunch to Don Sebastião and we were very much surprised about the delightful food and wine. The food was very honest but delicious at the same time.
I had a beef Portuguesa (all glutenfree), the potatoes and the meat were on point! The vine was from Douro and just the right companion. Only slidly minus point are the chairs- they look so stunning but aren’t that comfortable 🥲.
Every year we spend holidays in Algarve and we go to this pizza place. Best gluten free pizza I ever had. Always call one day before to make the reservation and make sure they have enough gluten free pizza for all of us. Thank you and see u next year
Busy restaurant, we asked about gluten-free options the first night and were shown 3 things on the menu. The second night, we were given a gf menu. Perhaps the staff didn't know about it but this seems kind of important information to know.
It seems like a good place with a wide variety of great products. However, what makes me not give it the maximum score is that despite it explicitly saying on the website that Dom Rodrigo is gluten-free and that it is not listed as an allergen (and not "allergenic"). The same thing happens in the store: we select "gluten-free", it shows us a list of products that do not include the gluten allergen, we drive 55 km each way and arrive at the store and are told that they cannot guarantee that the products are gluten-free, as there may have been contamination...
I imagine that they wouldn't like that to happen, would they? I would suggest that the information on the website be corrected, removing the information that the products are gluten-free, as it is not guaranteed that they are, and including traces of wheat/gluten in the list of allergens, as they are unsuitable for celiacs. Furthermore, the symbol indicating that the products are gluten-free should also be removed from the cards that identify the products in the display cases, as it is not guaranteed that they are gluten-free.
Detail: my wife is celiac and I went there with her on purpose so she could try Dom Rodrigo and other specialties. In addition, I also lost the opportunity to buy some for myself (I have no dietary restrictions), as did the 5th star. What a shame.
They had 3 gluten free pasta choices (penne, spaghetti and fusilli) combined with any of the sauces. We had bolognese and boar ragu. Delicious!! Olives and cheese were amazing too. Real Italian.
My only frustration was that we told them we were gluten free and they brought us bread with the olives and cheese appetizer. We asked three times if it was gluten free and were reassured it was. The third time the server said no it wasn’t. My husband had already eaten some of it. I’d be very cautious if you are celiac.
Discovered this brunch in the old town of Aljezur. A nice hippie atmosphere, but not very cozy if you want to feel comfortable while eating 😅
Very good acai bowl granola, as well as the gluten-free banana bread. Lots of vegan and gluten-free options, which are pretty good!
Nice view, lovely food, very modern and clean, gluten free options, also cheap! I got a steak sandwich in a different style bun.. no complaints! Bun was very nice sort of like a crispy outside but a pancakey middle, fries wasn’t too crispy which is good, fluffy on the inside and paired with the garlic mayo (that comes with the meal) was incredible, 10/10! My girlfriend got a gluten free chicken wrap with bacon, cheese, cherry tom and carrot.. she said it’s the best meal she’s had in Portugal! (we’ve been here over a month) she is a celiac so, SOME OF THE MENU is gluten free and safe for sure! For drinks we got a home made mint lemonade, big glass and refreshing, lovely place!
We had gluten free Bacalhau com natas (Cod and potatoes in cream and cheese sauce) which was delicious and Lime and honey salmon, which was the best salmon dish we have had in Portugal.
