John Paul was an amazing server that went above and beyond to make our experience fun and memorable. He is a kind human who made us feel special and this really meant a great deal because my friends and I met for my birthday. We love the location and the food, but seriously Twigs is lucky to have John Paul on their staff. Thank you! I also appreciate that they have a vegan and a gluten free menu upon request.
This place is amazing! They are very accommodating, as I am vegan and my wife is gluten free! I would recommend this place to anyone! I had a veggie quesedilla (which they made with vegan cheese and tempeh) as well as the PB&J smoothie and they were both top notch !
We were in the area and decided to try them based on some great reviews- especially of their knowledge of gluten free cooking. Their new menus didn't have the gluten free labeling like their online menu did, so we asked. We were told the coconut shrimp was gf, so we ordered that. Our waitress came back out shortly after informing us they were actually not gf, but the crab puffs were, so we ordered those. They came out (along with the tofu fries which were good), and I had a gut feeling they weren't gf. I looked online and they weren't labeled gf and even said they used immigration crab, which is not gf. I'm so glad I was skeptical. I saved myself from days of being sick and in pain had I eaten them.
In addition, the pad thai came out with ingredients not listed on the menu, so I had to stop eating that after only a few bites due to some other sensitivities.
My partner said his food was good, so as a normal restaurant, they might be fine; however, as a place for people who have food allergies or sensitivities (especially Celiac), I do not recommend them at all.
Best Thai food in Vancouver and in The Mill location, which is a great new hidden gem. Love all the workers and we have NEVER had something we didn't love.
Nice and quiet place for a date, a large group, family or wonderful to go.
Also perfect for gluten free and celiac.
Amazing food but we had an inexperienced waitress who had trouble with English hence didn’t know what gluten free meant and was watching youtube loudly, other than the service, the bathroom has a keypad which is really inconvenient, the floors stick to your shoes, and prices were very high per the portion. Wouldn’t recommend to dine in but if you do take out id imagine it would be perfect.
Unique, gourmet flavors. My wife LOVES the olive oil flavor. I just like ice cream. I am pretty indifferent about the quality, but it seems to be a consensus that it is very good. There is always a line. It is in an area along the downtown waterfront that has recently been redone and is quite nice. On a nice evening, it is a beautiful stroll. There is a nice water feature for kids to play in during hot water. My wife is gluten-free and just gets the ice cream in a bowl, just watch for varieties of a ice cream that have wheat. They also usually have a couple dairy free varieties.
Gluten free heaven! Huge menu all clearly labeled. And omg the food is fantastic. Squid salad and pad see ew all tops. I’m so impressed. I’ll be back!!
I love this place! It's vegan and has gluten-free options. There is plenty for those not limited to eat as well. My other half only has a shrimp allergy, so there are no issues here.
They have banana bread, gluten-free pancakes, and immolation "Just egg" in their burritos. If, like myself, avoiding gluten is not by choice, you can have a burrito bowl. They are delicious too. Everyone I have brought here loves their fake sausage (jackfruit) and steak. The steak has such a good imitation of meat strands that it fooled two meat eaters in my family.
They have great sauces on their dishes, and you can't tell it is fake egg (thanks late life allergies).
The pancake is best eaten fresh and hot. It is delicious, with the great moist, springiness that a pancake should have.
There are also matcha tea drinks, hot chocolate and half-and-half...a half drip coffee and half hot chocolate. It usually comes with roasted mini marshmallows, and if you can have the gluten, Graham cracker crumble.
Tip: Subbing ingredients here gets expensive fast. Just order things as is and try something different each time.
Street parking is free, and there is a very small set of parking spaces beside the taproom they are beside.
The taproom doesn't open until 11am, but you can take you Scratch food inside. They have great options for tap cider and beer, as well as a bottle shop.
There is an outdoor patio to sit at. There are a couple of propane heat sources, but it has been really hit or miss on if they are operating on cold and wet mornings.
