Adela’s is 5-star worthy despite us waiting 25 minutes more than expected to get our food. So that says a lot about the dishes. Me and my fiancé ordered the Seasonal Special Pumpkin Noodles and the Sweet Potato Noodles with Lechon and Garlic butter. I’ve never quite had anything like it, the textures were to perfection and the flavors were true to its promise. The portions are very large, so much so that we could’ve just gotten 1 plate and been totally fine for dinner for the both of us. And we’re typically big eaters. My only qualm with the experience is that they told us it would be 45 minute wait and we waited about 20-25 minutes longer than that. So the fact that this is still a 5-star review should tell you all you need to know. I saw several smarter locals who have called ahead come in and pick up their order - so if you’re considering eating here that may be the best move, especially given that there is no dine-in option. Keep in mind - they do not offer gluten-free options for noodles.

When there's over 2,100 reviews on yelp and you're close, you choose to stop in and see what all the fuss is about... We were greeted with a presentation from the staff on how they make the noodles fresh all day! The noodles were being made right in front of us. What I didn't expect was that all the noodles were made with flour so my husband couldn't eat them as he's gluten intolerant. I was so bummed that I'd picked a place where he couldn't try the main focus. He decided to "settle" for the loco moco as he grew up on Kauai and it was a staple. After driving over to the bay we broke open our boxes and found ourselves in TOTAL AND UTTER BLISS. My Taro noodles with vegetables and curry were amazing!! So fresh! So flavorful!! It was one of the best dishes I had in Hawaii... I thought it was THE BEST, until my husband let me have a bite of his loco moco. I instantly had food envy!! I still couldn't stop eating my noodles but I couldn't stop eating his now too!! My husband, who I said earlier grew up in Kauai, said the loco moco was THE BEST he's ever had, that's pretty high praise from a Hawaiian guy who grew up on it! Ohhh and then after I was SO full I couldn't shove another bite in my mouth I tried the mango bread I had picked up... oh sweet heavens... moist, flavorful, texture to die for! I dream of going back and eating here again!!
