Amalfi Cucina Italiana - Oceanside

Amalfi Cucina is a 5-star Italian experience! Authentic flavors, expertly crafted pizzas, pastas, and seafood, showcasing 30+ years of fine dining expertise. Their gluten-free options are incredible — from perfectly cooked pasta to a GF lasagna and they don’t compromise on taste! The wine list is equally impressive, offering amazing selections by the glass. The chefs's weekly specials are a must-try. We sat outside on the charming patio, which added to the relaxed yet upscale vibe. Visit during happy hour for amazing selections and wallet friendly deals. We enjoyed the charcuterie board which was one of the best I've ever had. Impeccable service and a warm atmosphere complete the perfect dining experience. Highly recommend!

I am a big fan of the Amalfi in San Marcos so (like many others) I was excited to try out the new location in Downtown Oceanside. Unfortunately, it wasn't even close to the same restaurant in terms of service or the overall experience. We arrived at 8 pm on Wednesday night and upon being seated, the server immediately told us that the kitchen closes at 8:45 (very clearly giving off the impression that they didn't want us there). We then ordered two glasses of white wine and received a glass of red. The entire experience felt very rushed with the staff clearing every item from our table before the restaurant even closed in an effort to get us to leave (they even stopped refilling our waters and took our water glasses when we still had food and wine left). Some of the staff was sitting down just staring at our table at 9:15 pm (9:30 was the advertised closing time). I had planned on ordering another glass of wine, but the server stopped coming by after 9 PM and I finally stopped at Busser at 9:20 to ask if I could order through him since the server wasn't coming by and he said that the server said they were closed. This location also doesn't have any hard liquor and reduced food options (no gluten free pizza, different pizzas, etc.) The live music was nice and our Busser was very friendly but the experience definitely missed the mark. I'm really surprised by the other positive reviews. We paid for a babysitter and planned to have a great evening, but the staff was too concerned about getting out of there before even closing time. Our large party all left disappointed and not wanting to go back.
