EN: I had lunch at Aqarina yesterday and, although the atmosphere was pleasant and the food (gluten-free pasta with truffle cream) tasted good, the experience ended up going very badly. I clearly informed the staff that I have celiac disease and was told that the gluten-free pasta was cooked separately. However, I spent the rest of the day with diarrhea and still feel unwell today, with symptoms typical of gluten contamination. This shows a clear lack of care when it comes to customers with dietary restrictions. Being celiac is not a choice — it’s a serious medical condition that requires strict handling of food. I sincerely hope the restaurant takes this seriously and improves its procedures, so others don’t have to go through the same experience. Amazing, honestly the most flavourful food I had during my trip. The owner was actually the one cooking and bringing our food out, you could tell how passionate he was about his job. He gave us garnishes and told us which dishes taste better with which garnish. He even brought out gluten free bread (so soft and delicious!!) when he brought bread for the rest of the table! He is extremely knowledgeable about gluten allergies and celiac and provided us woth separate garnishes for the gluten free food to avoid cross contamination by sharing one. Went above and beyond, the food was delicious, would definitely go back if im ever in cascais again!!

Honestly couldn’t understand how this place has such great reviews. We came in at 9pm, and were told the kitchen closes at 9:30pm. We said that’s easy and that we’re just after 2 serves of gluten free pasta. We were ready to order at 9:05pm with closed menus . They took our order at 9:11. We ordered gf pesto burrata and gf frutti de mare and 2 glasses of white wine. We asked what the gf pasta was and they said linguine. Perfect. They said gluten free takes 20 mins. That’s okay with us. The wine was horrible. My partner ordered a glass of red which was equally as bad. The food came out at 9:35. The pasta was penne not linguine. The burrata pesto pasta was luke warm at best. The seafood was grittier that straight up sand. At 9:50 they told the table next to us that they’re closing in 5 minutes. To hurry them up as they still had lots of food. Probably cause it was hard to eat. We walked away paying full price at this point with most of our food and wine in the table. Not a pleasant experience. Walked to another smaller authentic Italian pasta place with 12 seats. There we received the 5 star food and service we were after. There’s better places in Cascais. Maybe we got them at the end of a bad night but that was our experience.
