Araxi Restaurant & Oyster Bar

I can’t recommend this place enough, especially for people who need a great gluten free meal. My partner (celiac) and I came in for a late dinner after driving up from Seattle and had a spectacular time. We both had the four course pre-fixe and nothing was a miss. our server was incredibly kind and we felt taken care of for the entire meal. We were especially appreciative of his reassurances that my partners dietary restrictions were not just accommodated but taken seriously! On top of this the food & cocktails were great, we will absolutely be back in the future.

The food was fantastic but the experience was made unforgettable by our server Maryann! Her knowledge of the menu was above and beyond. Able to provide descriptions and suggestions to help guide us and she knocked it out of the park. As well I have a gluten allergy and she’s was able to accommodate me and even brought gluten free bread to the table as a starter and I’ve never experienced that before. That may be a araxi standard but I still credit Maryann. Next time I come I will be asking for her to serve us.

Our dinner at Araxi was one of the best we have had in a long time. We will be going back anytime we are in Whistler. The service was top notch. Our server was well informed on the menu and helped us select our dinner when asked for her options. They were able to accommodate both a gluten intolerance and a citrus allergy. They even had separate bread and butter/oil for us to accommodate the intolerance. My cousin had salmon sushi to start and then the sable fish. I just did small plates starting with the butternut squash soup then the beet and buffalo mozzarella and finally the beef tartare which was the best beef tartare I have ever had. Everything we ate was amazing. Even though we were pretty full we got dessert of macarons and a cheese plate but we took most of it home for midnight snacks. The restaurant is busy but you don’t feel rushed or overwhelmed by the noise. People were dressed in fairly casual to nicely dressed.
