We went to Benihana for a date night. To start, we arrived at our reservation time, checked in, then told we would have to wait. The waiting room was packed, so we waited in our car for an hour past our reservation time to be seated. We told the waiter that my partner is gluten-free, but when eating the first course soup, I noticed the onions were fried and told my boyfriend to stop eating until we checked. It was not gluten free, and so they brought out another soup which was. Then when the chef came out, he went through everyone's orders to confirm, and I'm glad he did because my order was entered incorrectly. It was so loud in the restaurant, it makes sense that the waiter couldn't hear me order, my boyfriend and I could hardly hear each other and we were sitting next to each other. We got that fixed, and the food as it came out was delicious, but halfway through as we were eating, the chef said to my boyfriend "wait, I accidentally made your rice not gluten-free"... so he had to stop eating that too even though he was halfway through it. While the food was really good, it was really salty and honestly only good because of the sauces. The meat itself was not amazing. We were overall disappointed in this experience especially because we had such high expectations from our friend, who recommended that we come here. The chef was nice and the show was fine, but I will definitely not be back.
