Bivouac Canteen & Bar

The worst food I have eaten in a very long time. Bivouac used to be amazing what happened?! The fried potatoes which sounded like they would be crispy were chunks of greasy potato with a horrible sauce that left a weird aftertaste in your mouth. The crispy skin pork was stale and soggy skin. When I gave feedback I was told that’s because they cook it in the oven and fry it… not oh I’m sorry let me fix this. Ridiculous excuse. The chimichurri was not chimichurri it was like a weird tasteless spinach thing. The sauces were flavourless. Honestly it was hard to find anything I enjoyed at a once great restaurant. I will say there are many gluten free options and the chicken wasn’t dry. Those are the only positives I can find.

Great dinner at Bivouac! We choose it as their menu is different to the usual affairs and most items on the menu are gluten free. We had the flatbread and dip, halloumi, sweet potato, beef tangine and broccolini. All of them were delicious! The service was great as well and the ambiance is nice and relaxed. Overall it was a great dinner experience
