C
Beautiful delicious food and great service. Was a little concerned about how much food would be served as we had the Chef's Tasting menu. However, we shouldn't have been. There was plenty of food for everyone and they were able to accommodate those in our group with lactose and gluten allergies. Highly recommend that you try Blackfire, we will certainly be back.
O
My partner and I ate at Blackfire for a birthday dinner. We ordered the Prosciutto di Parma, Pumpkin Gnocchi Pork Belly Ragu and the Wagyu Brisket with Dutch potatoes and the Roquefort Cognac Sauce. We ordered all of these items gluten free as I have coeliac disease. When the entree came out the gluten free bread was dry and mostly cold, also 1.5 slices of the bread was the crust end. I waved over a waiter and mentioned that we would like the crust pieces replaced with a proper slice of bread and the waiter was happy to exchange it. The replacement piece of gluten free bread was soft and warm, unlike the first lot of bread we got. The Pumpkin Gnocchi Pork Belly Ragu was very nice however, there were hardly any pieces of pork, mostly all sauce. The wagyu brisket was very dry, we had to use the ragu sauce to be able to enjoy the brisket. On the menu it says that all meats include a choice of side and sauce, we ordered the Roquefort Cognac as our choice of sauce. When it came time to pay the bill there was an extra charge for the Roquefort Cognac. When I mentioned this to the staff I was told that for the Wagyu there is no choice of sauce and that it comes with the Jus. I mentioned that the Wagyu didn't come with its own sauce, as well as the one we were charged extra for, since we had to use the ragu sauce to eat it. We ended up just paying and leaving. Throughout the meal no staff came over and asked us how our meal was going or checked if we wanted to order any more drinks. We were very disappointed in our meal and the service overall.
