Boshamps Seafood and Oyster House

Due to having a gluten allergy, I was told I could order any of the sandwiches without a bun. I decided to be safe and go with the burger. On the menu it lists lettuce, tomato, and some other toppings. My burger came out as a slab of meat with melted cheese and nothing else (as seen in the picture). Add to that the fries that come with the meal are not gluten free. I was told I could substitute my side for something else but there would be a charge. They wanted to charge $8 to substitute the fries for mashed potatoes. Most restaurants when they offer a side that doesn’t meet an allergy, are kind enough to substitute it for no charge. Not this place. Add to that the waitress seemed put out with any questions asked. They were not very helpful. So, I had an overpriced extremely greasy burger patty and fries I couldn’t eat (because I wasn’t going to pay $8 for another side). I had to ask for lettuce and tomato that should have come with the burger.

Great view, great service. The menu is small, but what they make is delicious. However, this restaurant is NOT allergy friendly. There are not many options if you have dairy or gluten issues, and if you try to substitute anything, they change you extra.
