Brotula's Seafood House & Steamer

We had a wonderful evening at Brotula’s. Our family has significant food allergies, so eating out can be stressful and difficult. But it was neither of those either time we’ve come! They accommodated our allergies very well! (Our kids are allergic to gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, seeds and soy protein and my husband is allergic to nuts, seeds and avocado). Tonight’s server, TJ, went above and beyond to double and triple check that they could all eat without any concerns. He checked on us often, was kind, joyful, and very personable. He really wanted to make sure our dinner and vacation was awesome. Our previous waitress was also very attentive to the food allergies which will make us come again and again. The outdoor seating is awesome. We love getting to look over the harbor. We’ve tried the gumbo, snow crab, king crab, oysters Rockefeller, the blackened brotula and the Mediterranean brotula (really liked the Mediterranean), and the crab cakes. Everything is yummy, comes out hot and with good sized portions! It’s pricey, especially the crab…but it was worth the fun new experience with our family.

I have celiac and our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about what I could have with my dietary restrictions. This is my hubby’s favorite place to go in Destin. The baked oysters are a MUST! My 8 year old even loved them, and he is super picky! We had the mussels as an appetizer and the sauce is exquisite! Thanks for another great experience.
