tl; dr I had high hopes for this fried chicken place, but ended up disappointed by the food, including a raw biscuit. 1. The food: The chicken was crispy and juicy with an herb seasoning, although the seasoning only made it onto part of my chicken, The hot honey miso sauce tasted like mayonnaise, with none of the umami of miso and no heat. (We are not sure if we were given a different sauce than we had ordered.) The gochuchang BBQ sauce was better, but very sweet, tasting like molasses. Gochuchang itself has sugar, so the combination was sweet on sweet. Where this meal really fell flat was the sides. My biscuit was raw in the middle--potentially a health risk, given that raw flour can have salmonella. My spouse's biscuit was underbaked. Coleslaw was flavorless and tasted like raw cabbage. Collard greens were cooked but minimally flavored and could have benefited from a squeeze of fresh lemon juice (or really any other flavor; they mostly tasted like salt). 2. The service: Speedy and attentive. 3. The atmosphere: The bathroom is wallpapered with playboy magazine printouts of topless women. I think it was meant to be cutesy (restaurant is named "Bunny's"), but it came off as objectifying. Not kid-friendly. 4. The value: There are multiple fees. For example, white meat chicken comes with a surcharge. Credit cards also elicit a 2% fee. And of course, any extra sauce will cost several dollars for a small cup. Especially given the poor quality of the food, it was expensive at $30/person (for an entree and non-alcoholic drink, before tax, tip, and credit card fees) 5. For those with dietary restrictions: The chicken is dredged in rice flour, meaning that it would be gluten-free for anyone requiring that. They have non-alcoholic bubbly, although it is very sweet and tastes more like sparkling apple juice than like champagne. There are few if any options for vegetarians, since even the sides and salads mostly contain meat.

We went to Bunny’s for the first time yesterday and were beyond impressed! The fried chicken was amazing and I was so happy that it was gluten free. My boyfriend isn’t on a GF diet (and is from the south) and he loved the chicken, too. The sides were also delicious - I couldn’t get enough of the grits! And our server, Eddie, was fantastic. His energy was great and his service was excellent - I could staff a whole restaurant with nothing but Eddies. Lastly, the atmosphere and restaurant itself were comfortable, cool, and kind of adorable. Can’t wait to come back, and to bring my fellow GF fam from DC soon.

A cute restaurant with good food, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere. Came here to meet a friend from out of town and to experience a new restaurant. We came initially at hoppy hour, no, that is not misspelled. We ordered chicken poutine and the croquettes for the table, which we shared among us. The chicken poutine was delicious, and I almost ordered a second order for my dinner. Instead, I wanted to try the crab rice and during hoppy hour, a half portion was inexpensive., The jumbo lump crab on top of the crab rice was good, and the crab rice was different but a little sweeter than I would have liked. If you have a gluten allergy or eat gluten-free, their fried chicken is gluten-free, and I plan to bring a friend back here to try it. Oh, and their cocktails were phenomenal, and the fact that you could get two of them without alcohol made it even better. This was a charming and friendly restaurant, and my friends and I had a great time. I plan to bring other friends back here in the future, especially to try the gluten-free fried Chicken. We were too full from our appetizers and our entrees to have dessert, but hopefully next time. I highly recommend a visit here.
