Carrara's Pastries | Cakes, Gelato & Coffee

What a gem! Carrara's is an Italian dessert shop that also specializes in gelato and coffee/tea. There's a parking structure in the back, and the first 90 mins are free. Ambience was nice, and I loved their black and gold themed decor. Will definitely be inviting the girls to meet here and catch up over sweets. Here's what we ordered: An iced latte, a yogurt strawberry cake, and a trilogia cake. The yogurt strawberry (4/5) was so fluffy and airy. I loved that it had the right amount of sweetness (not overly sweet), and with a good hint of acidity from the yogurt. It reminded me of Japanese sponge cakes. As for the trilogia (5/5), it's more of a chocolate texture than a cake. It's made with 3 different kinds of chocolate (dark, milk, and white chocolate with Bavarian cream) you def can taste the quality. Very delicate! Bonus points, it's gluten free. So good! The only/biggest complaint would be the coffee (3/5). I'm not sure if it was the almond milk or what, the coffee tasted a bit watered down to me. But it's not gonna stop me from coming back. I enjoyed the cakes. Wished they included the savory dishes like their Moorpark location so I could try those as well. I recommend this place!
